    Question about paypal!

HI there. like 3 years ago i used to sell RsGP. i was collecting money there for like 2 weeks. i ended up getting 170 euro on it. then i used some money to get membership. and after 2 weeks i got disputed and i had debts for it... ( - 6-7 euro ) didnt know such thing is possible. since here in estonia there is no such thing like "dispute" from banks..

Now im planning to start making money again via games and im bit afraid about paypal... example i collect money , put it to card, waste it and then somebody dispute and i get - credit and having debts..

can anyone explain it to me how to avoid it?

    Thx!

    Question about paypal!

Just don't sell RSGP or anything via PayPal to newcomers with like 0 vouches and 10 posts.

Use safer methods such as PlayerAuctions, MoneyPak, and Western Union.

    Question about paypal!

It sounds like you've had a transaction or multiple charge-backed. To avoid this only accept paypal from trusted individuals who are unlikely to charge you back (claiming you didn't deliver the item/invalid transaction, etc) or simply use alternative money transfer sites such as Western Union. You could also deal in RSGP which is safe from chargebacks, you just have to worry about Jagex wiping you.

Also paypal disputes are not via your bank, they are through paypal.

    Question about paypal!

Yes, if they charge back and you lose the dispute, you owe paypal the money. So if you transfer the money from your paypal to your bank account, and then they file the charge back, your paypal account will remain negative until you add money to pay the dispute off.

    Question about paypal!

Just adding to this, if your bank account is still attached to the PayPal, they may just take money from the bank account to remove the negative PayPal balance.

    Question about paypal!

Do you know the timeframe for this? I had a user charge back a little over $1000, and since I always cleared out my balance I had -$1,000 for bout a week or so until he reversed them

    Question about paypal!

I dunno exactly. I had someone dispute a payment though and I was -$16, money was gone from my bank. Was probably three days from losing the dispute? Was a couple of years back though.

    Question about paypal!

So basically safest way is: after someone send you money to paypal. you just transfer it to your bank asap! and then cancel the bank with paypal Right?

So after they chargeback and the credit goes to negative. is it like Must to pay back? (to paypal) or simply just make new account for deals?

There wont be any "intress" etc. not sure if i wrote intress right haha. hope you understand (L)

    Question about paypal!

Having a negatively charged balance tied to your name could potentially lead to credit problems in the future (regardless of amount). I wouldn't suggest you ditch a paypal account since they can obviously trace who was the owner if you had bank accounts/cards linked to it

    Question about paypal!

Simple Answer: Only take PP from people you would be comfortable accepting a check from. Are you sure the check won't bounce? Have they written checks in the past?

Try to use PlayerAuctions, they do charge $1.99 + 9% or so, but for anything over like 1b it is highly worth the extra security, just make sure you read up on it and record all of your transactions.

Also, if there is a Western Union (WU) near you, they have great payment systems. You go and pick up the money and walk away, no one is going to try to take the money out of your hand as you leave the store, that's for sure!
