    Computer Problem

I left my computer to download something overnight, I woke up and the download ended up being cancelled and i couldnt open anything. It was raining hard and there were a couple thunder if that means anything.

I couldnt open any folder, it just sits loading then does nothing. So I tried rebooting it, and I couldnt open anythng. Everything is loaded, I see the icons and all, but opening it gets me no where. Its like everything stopped working except the mouse. I can open the start menu, pick a program but the program wont open. If I search for anything, it just stays at searching. I restarted a few times and enced up going on safe mode and doing a system restore to no avail. I havent downloaded anything untrustworthy, only a ps2 emulator with 2 games from emuparadise. I was downloading the 2nd game and I woke up to the computer not working. It cant be the game because the computer was able to cancel it.

The computer also doesnt connect to the internet on safe mode.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Edit
I found someone with the same problem as me:
    Link/

I cannot do this because my computer wont even connect to the internet on safe mode, however everything seems to be fine. It just says no connections available. I cannot download malwarebytes. I just realized i didnt open safe mode with networking.

Safe mode -with- Networking is what you selected, right?

Are you able to run programs in safe mode? Scan that computer babeh, just in case...

The only situation I can think of, since I've encountered this when I was young and working on this type of junk... is: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/233243-default-file-type-associations-restore.html but I don't think that's your problem...

Edit: Your link just said the same things I said =/. Ahahaha.

Edit2: Use whatever device you're on.. transfer it via USB / Flash Drive / etc.

Edit3: Yeah... you're gonna need that networking lmao.

Hey thanks for the reply, hopefully you are right and its a malware.

Another question though, could this malware have come from a game in emuparadise? Or is it possible that its been here for longer than that? Because thousands of people are on emuparadise and kingdom hearts is one of the top downloaded games, so that cannot be where the malware is from right? Assuming it is a malware.

Perhaps some sort of advertisement from that site downloaded something... so if you see anything in Temporary Internet files or something like that, then yeah haha. I don't think it was the game, though... when the scan finds the file(s), check the creation date and you can probably trace it through that.

Danggggg ahahaha. Stop downloading that porn! Be sure to keep MBAM installed lol. Right now I'm using a Comodo-Avira-MBAM mix... I switched my AntiVir to Avira after my gf... and it seems to work fine =p.

Anywho good luck haha... be glad nothing really bad happened.

It ended up to being 27, one was a trojan called magnipic. Others were temp files and register keys. But the trojan was the default ticked one. After the restart it still didnt work. My sister tried something on safe mode, and restarts it and gets fixed. Now shes bragging snd thinking she fixed it. She doesnt even know what a malware or trojan is...

So is it fixed now or what? Be sure to do another full scan and keep doing it until there are zero results.

Edit: Sorry I didn't reply to your PM haha I was away, but inb4 she was the one who put the virus on your computer -wink- haha jk =].

Edit2: I read your PM and... no I'd disagree. Did you ever download PrivitizeVPN? If so, get rid of it! =p.

Seems like you're fixing the problem.

As for the future, download a virus scan AND Malwarebytes. They take care of different things. If you want a good, free anti-virus, use Windows Security Essentials, along with Malwarebytes. Set up weekly scheduled scans. Not having schedules scans and going for months without scanning is what really fucks your computer up :p

Hope you can get it fixed!

Nope, I have no idea what privitizeVPN is.

I think it's fixed, but I'll continue doing scans. Thanks for the advice.

Well it appears Malwarebytes won't open, and new tabs on chrome doesn't work. Going to do another scan on safe mode. I'm on safe mode and I cannot download Windows security essentials on safe mode. Even when I'm out of safe mode, applications don't open after a few minutes of everything working.

If MBAM won't open... that's a bad sign haha. Keep on scanning until there is zero results! Then, send a screenshot of your task manager processes, if you don't mind =p.

MBAM opened on safe mode but found nothing.

Here are screenshots, should I delete everything MBAM quarantined? I thought it was removed when it was detected, but I found them quarantined.

    Process

Temp files, this is what some of the quarantined items MBAM leads to. But there's a whole ton of things there, I mean years ago. Should I delete them all? I doubt they have any use.

This is about half of what mbam quarantine, I should delete them all right?

Go ahead and delete them all... and I meant the processes in normal mode, not safe haha =].

Also, most of the TEMP junk should be delete-able... you might have to redownload Chrome I believe... but you can get rid of the {.ajfajdflkjaf} stuff for sure.

    SCAN FOR ROOT KITS!

Do NOT forget to do this just because your computer starts working again. Root Kits = backdoors back into your system.

It's fixed, the guy assumed it would take 2 hours to fix before he got here, ended it taking way longer. It was a worm. Thanks for the input everyone, especially Alex.
