Is guild wars 2 worth buying?

It seems like its not very populated (from what I've heard), and a lot of people seem to be trading or selling there accounts for something else. Just wondering if its worth the retail price I will pay for. Need a person who bought it to give me feedback. Is the SPvP/WvW even decent?

 

I Pre-ordered it and for a MMORPG it's a fantastic game. The WvW can keep you entertained for many hours as you can just adjust your builds each time and your style of play, but even better the storyline is so dynamic you really have control of the direction the game goes in.

After a few months I stopped playing, but this was a lack of time issue, not boredom as I've been busy with exams etc.

I do however feel that the game is getting a little bit ruined by bots and even more so by gold farmers. ANet has a very strong policy against it, amongst other things such as hacking so they are incredibly efficient in comparison to how companies like Jagex handle these issues, but still I think the problem is so wide it is almost impossible to eradicate the problem.

All in all I would give the game an 8.2/10, and would recommend it as the price has still dropped from release. You also have the peace of mind that an expansion is being made and will be released too, so there will be endless hours of gameplay.

i pre-order it aswell and really enjoyed it, but because i was playing by myself i got bored and sold my copy, but yes it is worth getting.

 

Are you planning on playing it for 'fun' or for trading?

 

Well from what I've heard is that gold farmers and boughts ruin the game. I'm just looking to play for fun with a group. Are there still pvp tournaments like in guild wars 1?

 

As Delta said, play with friends and it's really fun. None of my friends wanted to convert from GW to GW2 so I didn't enjoy playing on my own as much too.
