First I would like to thank everyone who is participating in next weeks PokeMMO tournament and goodluck to all who have entered.

Signups were closed on 2/10/2013 at Midnight, at that time we had 14 official signups for the tournament. Due to the number of trainers that signed up, there has been a slight change in the tournament.

In round one 7 trainers will be eliminated from the tournament, leaving 7 trainers left for round two. I will insert the 7 trainers who lost in the first round into a random name generator, whoever gets selected will earn and extra life and come back in for round 2. In round 2, 4 more trainers will be eliminated leaving 4 to go in the semi finals. The 2 winners from the semi finals will go on to the final round and battle for a chance to win $40 cash via Paypal.

Rules and regulations.

Trainers may only use 3 Pokemon per match, changing your party in between matches is fine.

The use of potions, boosters, etc. Is forbidden, any trainer caught using any of these will be eliminated immediately and their opponent granted an automatic win.

All matches MUST be spectated by one of the two judges, myself or I Dont Bot. Any match that may occur without a spectator does not count.

Trainers may talk with their opponent on a good meet time to do their battle, once you have agreed on a time you must post it here on this thread so a judge can meet up to spectate the match.

The following clauses are straight from the PokeMMO forums and we WILL be using them for this tournament, so be sure to look over them. Any clauses broken during a match will end the match automatically and the person who broke the clause will receive an automatic loss.

Sleep Clause: You may only put one of your opponent's pokemon to sleep at a time (using moves like Spore, Sleep Powder, Hypnosis and Lovely Kiss). This means that if you put one of your opponent's pokemon to sleep and they switch out, then you cannot put another of their pokemon to sleep until the previous pokemon wakes up (either naturally or by Aromatherapy/Heal Bell or the ability Natural Cure [not yet implemented]). If an opponent uses Rest to put their own pokemon to sleep, it does not count and you are still allowed to put another pokemon to sleep.
Evasion Clause: Moves that raise evasion (such as Double Team and Minimize) are banned from use. Sweet Scent which lowers your opponent's evasion is fine as well as abilities that may raise evasion like Sand Veil. Also raising/lowering accuracy (using moves such as Sand Attack and Smokescreen) are fine as well.

OHKO Clause: Moves that are one-hit knock out moves (Fissure, Horn Drill, Guillotine and Sheer Cold) are banned. Evasion and OHKO are often banned together and it's just called DTOHKO Clause.
Species Clause: You cannot have two pokemon with the same national pokedex number (ie you can have a Charmeleon and Charizard on the same team, but not two Charizards).

Bag Item Clause: You cannot use any items at all from your bag.
Pristine Clause: Your pokemon must come into battle fully healed as if you used a pokemon centre just before the battle. This is mainly to prevent people bringing poisoned pokemon with Guts in to battle, giving them immediate attack boost as well as immediately being immune to status effects.

Broken Move Clause: You cannot use any moves that are missing an important secondary effect. For example Skull Bash and Future Sight are banned because they hit on the first turn rather than when they are meant to. Secret Power isn't on this list though as it doesn't seem to cause any problems.

Current broken moves are:
-Razor Wind
-Future Sight
-Doom Desire
-Counter

Other Common Clauses Which Many Tournaments Use

Self-KO Clause: If you faint your opponent's last Pokemon with a move that also faints your own last pokemon (such as via selfdestructing or from recoil damage) you lose that game by default even though the chat will display you as the winner [can be checked if both players get sent to the pokemon centre after battle].

Item Clause: Each pokemon on your team must hold different hold items (having multiple pokemon not holding an item does not break Item Clause). This may be extended to just limiting your team to one pokemon holding Leftovers or just banning Leftovers instead. One of the main reasons being that you can't tell if someone has an item such as Black Belt so a player could fill their team with Black Belts and no-one would know if they were cheating or not.

Freeze Clause: You cannot freeze more than one of your opponent's pokemon at a time [note: in simulators you can just disable freeze when one pokemon is frozen but ingame you cannot so this clause would probably be best left off]. Does not stack with Sleep Clause, so you may put a pokemon to sleep and freeze another simultaneously.

Hax Item Clause: The use of items such as King's Rock, Brightpowder [not yet available], Lax Incense, Focus Band [effect not yet implemented] and Quick Claw [effect not yet implemented] is banned. Hax items are often seen in the same light as evasion moves, so expect your opponent to get angry if you successfully dodge their 100% accurate move.

Kamikaze Clause: The use of the moves Explosion and Selfdestruct are simply banned. This is more or less a silly clause and is only really applicable to a 1v1 format where you are not playing with Self-KO Clause.

And now, without further ado here are your opponents for round 1. Remember the tournament does not start until the February 15th, 2013 but feel free to meet with your opponent and schedule the time you would like to battle, then post it here.
