Why? It's quite obvious they're intended as jokes. Anyone that construes them as offensive needs to get a grip.

 

Don't give in to this stupid thread. If someone thinks a few ranks degrade the quality of the entire site, then something is wrong with them, and they should simply discontinue use if it bothers them that much. This is like saying the cracker head rank rank doesn't belong in the market as well. If you want to disable miniranks in the market, go ahead and disable them all, but don't censor a few out because it may upset a few people who can't bare to look at the hover description.

With that being said, I think the best solution would be to permit people to 'toggle' them completely off, or switch to a theme that doesn't support them, which is currently possible.

 

I don't consider them offensive, although when newcomers like me register and notice those ranks, it makes the site look unprofessional.

 

It makes it look like there's a drop of fun inside the forums, and maybe even convince some marketfags to be more community-oriented.

I agree that too much ranks kind of looks unprofessional, maybe you should limit the amount of miniranks so it dosent make you ui look different.
