By reporting him you generally have to accept the loss anyway, unless he wishes to return and then he will have to repay you. But you should report him so that he doesn't scam anyone else.

I'm sorry for the loss you have already experienced:S
Be VERY aware of imposters, there are many, also be very careful about hacked accounts; I have seen quite a few members getting hacked recently. Also keep in mind, that if a trade seems too good to be true, just drop it! Also, if someone acts suspicious, simply don't deal with them!
