Paypal negative balance

If i have a -$200 balance is it possible paypal will take money from my credit card? or all they can do is take money away if i upload some?

 

They can take it if you upload it they are not authorized to take money straight from you bank account but you are required to clear up the balance in due time. That is for a CC of you have your direct bank linked I think they will prompt you to upload funds but mo they cant just takenit read the PP private policy.

Yes they can, you most likely will receive a email regarding it and some threats in a way that you need to pay within 2 weeks and stuff like that.. How come your negative?

 

Yes, but it won't happen. Try and pay of the debt of $230. They may limit your account permanently. Was the negative balance incurred from chargebacks?

I'd 100% pay it back. I wouldn't take the risk man, they chased after me for $68 ... I'm sorry for your loss.

 

They can seize money from a bank account or credit card if it's attached to the account. I know they've done it in the past.

 

Ok so which is it... Some of you say they can and some say they cant...

 

They cant, just read the private policy they will send a paper to your home. Now if your of age to file taxes it might affect your tax return though but im not sure collections can do a lot.

PayPal used to do this, but lost a lawsuit several years ago and now will not pull funds from any source without your authorization. If your account balance is negative (through a chargeback, reversal, etc), here is what they may do (in the likely, though not guaranteed, order):

*Take any funds in your paypal account to bring the balance back to zero
*Use any incoming payments to cover the negative balance
*Ask you to add money to your account to solve the problem.
*"Piggyback" the owed amount onto any payments you might make. There is full disclosure as to the total amount you are authorizing to be pulled from your selected funding source, and you do have the option to decline to make any payments.
