There used to be this one which was relatively slow but it got the job done http://www.sythe.org/runescape-2-ch...scape-mass-name-checker-free-open-source.html but it appears it isn't working anymore.
I don't actually think there are any free name checkers however Blupig is selling one here http://sythe.org/showthread.php?p=11526863.

I found the free one DIED and not paying 50m for a name checker.

Can someone explain to me what exactly name checkers do, and what (if anything) you need to input?

 

They check what 'rare' names there are to be took, name sellers take them and sell them for gold.
For example, a freind of myne gave me 6W8

 

I remember JJ telling me he had one, I hope he doesn't mind me saying this but you could ask him if he still has it and if you could use it.

I'm pretty sure what what I've heard that blupigs is the best around, but i've never personally used it.
