need help finding a rule

so i was on the name forum, and i came across a thread from a particular individual, whom we do not like each other, he was selling names, but did not put them on his thread and told people to pm him for them, i pmed him, he gave them to me, then i looked on the sythe.org rules and didnt find anything that said i cant leak, so i leaked the 40+ names he pmed me, and i recieved an infraction, so i looked at the sythe.org rules multiple times over, and still didnt find anything, so i am asking you, where is the rule that says i cannot leak sale details, and should we be getting infracted for something not in the rules? i contacted the person who gave it to me, then i contacted an admin. below are the pms.

so i get an infraction over a non exitent rule, i prove what he is doing, and yet i still get punished, wow these rules make sense.

You knew what you was doing, if someone wants their information private then they have a right to request to keep it private for safety reasons. Then you come along and breach his privacy and now you are trying to wiggle out of it by being smart.

 

where is the rule? as far as i am concerned, i cant be punished for a rule that is non existant

 

That one pretty much links to your question, it says any information which a user has requested not to be leaked. He asked you not to leak his names, and you leaked them. Its a 1 month ban so you got off very lightly.

 

It's bad practise. By asking people to PM him he obviously doesn't want his name accounts being banned or sniped. Why would you leak them? It's just highly unprofessional and untrustworthy of you. It's just an infraction, anyway, they're just warnings - just don't do it again, simple.

 

Rule or no rule, bit of a dick move don't you think? If you don't like someone, just ignore the person, or use the ignore list if you're really annoyed by them. You had no right in doing that, be thankful you only got an infraction.

 

that is as far as real life, if you read the pms, i addressed that, i don't see where it says "disclosure of sales"
as far as the other guys question, i did this, because he stole names, he now has a trade with caution title on his name because of it.

 

Its still his personal information, its his accounts. He has the right for anyone to not sure his accounts.

That's besides the point, it's your infraction under discussion not his legitimacy. Two wrongs don't make a right.

 

uncovering lies in my opinion does not constitute for a infraction.

 

You could of reported the PM to a mod, not publicly display his details. Its like saying your going to scam someone to undercover a scammer.

 

You broke common principle. Leaking personal info/ private info is not allowed. If you had leaked my name list when I used to sell names, I would have done everything possible to try and get you banned. You don't deserve to be on sythe, an infraction is light.


Not only this, but after 1 mod tells you, asking a global and an admin was stupid. You wasted their time, you really need to think over your maturity.

i dont take what i dont believe is fair kindly, how did i say i was going to uncover a scam by scamming someone? i dont see ANYWHERE where it says i was going to scam someone, and as far as the privacy goes, i dont see where it say "disclosure of sales" or anything of the like. Also if you read the rules, it says if you do not believe the infraction you received was fair, you can get a second opinon, so i did, and the 2nd opinion said i should get a global.

 

I dont really see where this thread is going tbh. You've PM'd a sectional, global, and admin and they all told you:

1) its only an infraction
2) it broke the privacy rule
3) there doesnt have to be a rule set in stone and staff can ban/infract anything they want with a good reason.

 

It doesn't say on the rules that we can't contact people for there address, go and murder them, then go on their account and post stuff. Yet you'd get banned if you did that (probably more than banned but yeah..)

It's common sense, if someone didn't want information leaked and you leaked it, you were being an ass. You got infracted for it.
In my opinion you should be infracted for wasting staff time.

An admin has even decided, so there's nothing anyone can do here. I suggest you act more mature and stop digging yourself into a hole.
