    Best $500-600 Desktop

Hey guys, I'm in the market for a new cheap desktop for gaming. My limit would be around 500-600, as I just want a cheap rig - I'll probably buy a full blown behemoth in a year or two. I wouldn't mind a pre-built computer, but if anybody here is able to source parts for a good PC I could build myself within my price range that would be fine. My preference is for the CPU to be an intel, preferably with a k suffix for easy overclocking (such as i5-2500k), but asides from that I have no real preferences, besides having at least 8 GB RAM (I could easily get G.Skill Ares if I built it myself). Thanks for any help that you guys provide.

By the way, I have looked at one of the Cyberpower PCs and the reviews all say that it has an inadequate PSU, and that it is prone to fatal crashes as a result of this and other problems, so I'd prefer to steer clear of Cyberpower.

That's a horrible CPU/mobo listed for that budget. I'd rather lower the GPU in return for a CPU that wasn't outdated 5 years ago. Thanks for the link to that image though.

Thanks, that's more along the lines of what I'm looking for. Might upgrade the CPU to an i5-2500k/3570k as those cores beat most AMD cores when OC'd.

Yeah you can go wuth intel but I wanted to save you 60 bucks and get you an AMD FX 8320 it's good you can spend 60 bucks more and get the i5 2500k/3570k but you'll have to change the motherboard.

That's actually quite a good build. I'd probably swap off the Radeon 7850 for a GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2gb, and maybe downgrade the 3570k to an i5-2500k, but asides from that, that's a really good build. The shipping would probably be more for me though, due to the fact that I'm Australian. Only problem is I'm not sure if I can even order from Newegg due to that fact, and the US versions of the parts you mentioned would probably charge me like ~30 a piece to ship out, so I'd need to find more local vendors. Thanks for that though :)

Just gonna throw this out there, I use the Integrated 4000 on my i5-3570k and I don't even have a dedicated graphics card. It works wonders unless you're looking for very resource consuming games. You should try that and get a dedicated card if you need it later :)

I would be in need of a GPU - I'd use the build to play maxed graphics BF3/Crysis and the such. The integrated graphics are decent for things like MineCraft, but they can't handle the higher end graphics required from the newer titles.

Minecraft is an underestimate. I have no gpu and can handle GW2 and many games on max. But definitely go with the dedicated card i you're into newer titles. Really, you should have gone with Newegg's Black Friday sale. At one point a Corsair cx-650 was on sale for like 20 bucks.

Best of luck with the build :)

Oh, and also get this if you're going with a dedicated card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072
It's on sale/ use the promo code. You'll save 40 bucks on the 3570 and there's little difference
