Pure question?

Hi,
I am thinking about making a pure but I am not quite sure if it is worth it? Like is it worth the time and money I will put into it due to it being f2p and also what type of pure is generally the best for f2p? I don`t mind training for a while and also what f2p methods would you use to train that skill?

In my opinion no it isn't, especially not for F2P as Jagex nerfed green d'hide armor so every piece requires 40 defense now. That alone put an arrow in my side, however it depends on what combat style you plan to focus on. If you plan to avoid ranged altogether, my suggestion would be to make a 40 def pure. I wouldn't advise you training a pure if it's solely for F2P. As far as which training methods are most effective, I would pick an NPC that's easy e.g. monk until my core combat skills were in the higher 20-level range. From there, I would move to Hill Giants for their big bones, then over to Moss Giants or something of the sort. Minotaurs seemed to be popular among pures pre-EoC, however if you plan on raising your defense choose something that has the higher hit points since you would be able to wear reasonable armor.

 

So whats the best way to make money in f2p now then? Merching and doing some skilling?

 

Re-read my post, I edited it to answer your question more appropriately. If you have 40 defense, along with decent combat skills you could kill cockroach soldiers in the stronghold of player safety or revenants in forinthry dungeon dungeon. C-soldiers rake in 120K/hr due to their frequent rune drops, and revenants rake in 180K/hr because they drop corrupt dragon armor and ancient artifacts.
