This is crazy..

Okay so I have been playing Runescape since 2003 and I played up until I got fed up of it late 2010.. I took a major break and recently decided to log onto it and maybe start playing again... wow... that is not going to happen.

Jagex has completly fucked the game up in every aspect possible.. Forgive me If I'm being a little ignorant towards changes but the old Runescape was always the best.. Now they have weird items.. weird quests.. new cities that I have no clue about..

Basically I came back and it was like I logged into a completly new game.. I havn't had a clue where to go/ what to do/ where to start...

Basically the overall rant and point I'm trying to make is... WHAT THE FUCK.

Sorry If you see this as me being ignorant but I'm just being truthful.

I probably would be able to get used to it.. but It seem's it's dying out and the Runescape I used to know is gradually being taken over

 

Frankly, it's not worth getting used to. There will be a much bigger change when the new combat system comes out on the 20th.

 

Yes I just seen this.. 200 combat now? 126 then 138 now 200? It's stupid

 

Lot of veterans are turning towards 2006Scape. It's a private server remake of RS during the glory days of 2006.

But yes, the game is completely different now. In terms of how you play it and graphics. I dislike it as well.

 

Runescape could not be a static game it needs change, if jagex would have stopped updating stuff in 2007 the game would be dead no one would play it. I personally am looking forward to the evolution of combat. The bar thingy seems interesting, and may add a new layer to the game. Most people are just stuck in their ways and are not open to changes in the game whether good or bad.

 

Yea if you think this is change, wait till EoC comes out, combat will be completely changed and even more different -_-

 

Sure, the game has changed, but what game hasn't changed since 2007? A 5 year streak of no system/graphical changes will cause a game to die and soon the company. I think people should really wait to judge the updates until after they come out. We know of beta, but we don't know exactly what's going to be implemented on the 20th. Plus, there's only more updates after that. I'm honestly happy they're actually working against bots to create a better game for the legit players.

A new fan base is potentially spawning, and runescape is now forced to keep up with the other MMOs out there. Change is not always bad, and I think people should just give the updates a chance before being so critical.

The only update I passionately hate is the freakin armour one! Yuck! Apart from that, gameplay is just getting better

 

I can understand your frustration, but this was inevitable. Personally, I felt this exact same way towards Halo 4 but low and behold I enjoyed it. There is a private server by the name of 2006Scape which is basically a complete emulation of Runescape from 2006 prior. It's currently offline, however you can Google it if you're interested. Other than that, the only aspect of Runescape that's been left untouched is Runescape Classic.

 

Lol did you expect the game not to have new items and no new areas between 2010 and now lol

 

That's nothing much you can do about it. Either embrace the new changes or quit rs.

Everything takes a little getting used to, when I first started playing I wasn't used to the changes either and it made me feel like a complete noob but once you get the gist of it (if you wish to) then i'm sure it won't be as bad as you make it out to be.

 

When i first came back, I had a very similar problem. Seemed like it took way too long to get the hang of it. And as soon as I seemed to get the hang of it, they are implimenting a new giant update. Just go with the flow and constantly learn.

 

For all of you asking 'Did I not expect this to happen'.. Then the honest answer would be... No. No I didn't. From 2003 to 2010 very minimal changes were made yes, but not major ones... and It seem's jagex is just complicating the game ALOT in such a short space of time... The updates from 2003-2010 were VERY self-explanitory and easy to get a hold of but I'm struggling with these 'newer' updates. Also I logged onto a F2P world and what do I see.. adverts! Fucking adverts on log in screen?! That's some bullshit. I am BEING very ignorant towards these newer changes because I have played RS long enough to know what good changes there are and what bad changes are... Maybe I will give it a shot of getting used to but my mind is still unmade.

 

I'm with you I hate the armour it's so ugly!
