Possible Large scale hacking of Dutch bank accounts

It has been brought to my attention that there have been several dutch bank accounts that have been hacked recently and are being used to purchase RSGP in order to launder the money with.

I've been contacted by a user about an attempted €13,000 rsgp purchase with one of these compromised accounts.

I highly urge you all to avoid dealings with any dutch banks for the time being.



Edit: This may also include other banks as well. I would risk saying it's best off to avoid any bank transfers at all.

 

Can we know which bank provider it is? I have a bank account in holland, and I want to know if it's safe or not.

Thanks for the link. Multiple Dutch gold selling sites have received big orders recently. Including the site where I work for. I'm really wondering how this is going to work out and it seems like Dutch banks will not be to only ones. Watch out with ANY bank transfers.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but wouldn't this just completely screw over a majority of payment processors and not just bank transfers? Actual chargebacks come from hacked/stolen bank accounts anyways.

Yeah, quite possibly. Seems they're primarily using bank transfers though (As far as I'm aware. Could be more in depth)

 

If they're using Paypal, they would have to verify the bank account, correct? So I don't think that you'll get any from this..

 

You can checkout as a guest on most sites and use direct credit card. Almost all of the sellers here on Sythe use PayPal guest checkout for their direct credit card (god knows why). It'd be super easy for anybody to get away with it with this kind of resource..

Sander just contacted me. There were orders for total 7k euro on my gold selling website via iDEAL too. When accepting big orders you should only deliver after ID is sent.

By law the bank user is self responsible for any hacked account and losses, in some cases the bank is refunding their customer. There aren't troubles for sellers but to keep trouble out you should accept these payments with caution.

If you have access to a bank account then you can wire transfer within the bank account online. My bank USAA allows me to do that.

 

Recently, I've noticed PA taking extra precautions such as asking for ID, utility bill sheet, etc. That would be absolutely terrible if sellers would have to request personal information such as that in order to confirm a trade.
