    Tired of living at home.

    I can't stand living at home with my mom and sister anymore. I just really need to be out on my own. There are a few problems with this though. I'm 20 years old, I'm in college right now at a community college, and I work part-time in fast food. I'm broke all the time, and living at home just makes things worse.

    What can I do to make myself more independent, how can I make more money, and how can I get out on my own? I know I'm asking a lot here, but I just hate the situation I'm in now. Since I'm going to a community college right now I was thinking about looking into their certificates which take like only about a semester to earn, so I can get an actual job while I still go to school and work toward my degree, and be able to move out in the not so distant future, but I'm not sure. What do you guys think? *sigh*

    Since your in college atm you should stay at home with your mom and sister. The stress of paying rent, school work, and work will affect your grades negatively. As for your job, go ahead and get that certificate because you will have a better paying job then which will help alot with the being broke all the time problem. Once you get your degree you should think about going into a more well known college/university if you have the money because degrees from there will help you land a really nice job. If not then once you finish community college you should start your career and once everything is stable you can think of moving out.

    Can you recommend any certificates I should try to get? Like which ones would help me get a good job?

    Since you're obviously American (Forgive me if I'm wrong) I can't really advise you on certificates etc because I don't know much about American education. All I can say is this;

    Head down and bear it. Find something at college you really love and study it to death. When you're out of college, get an apprenticeship (or whatever it may be called in America) and get a good, solid job. Then, once you're making a regular income, look at maybe moving in with friends or getting your own small apartment. I've lived myself for two years now, and I will say that it's definitely much, much harder than you could possibly think. If you really want to move out, think long and hard about it.

    get a student loan as soon as possible, and go off to a university. im pretty sure student loans can cover housing(not 100%). if you do good, and youre successful in college, you shouldnt have a problem finding a good job once you get out. its gonna put you in some dept but imo its worth it.

    Dude people live with their parents up until the age of 30 sometimes. Your still young and should focus on your studies.

    If privacy is your only worry in life, you're doing pretty well. Think about also worrying about bills and being independant. It's a lot of responsibility.

    If you have decent writing skills, people will pay you to supply them with content. The great thing is you can do it from home and work it around your current schedule. Check out internetmoneymakingideasguide.com for some ideas on how you can make money writing. You could also check out Fiverr.com and see if there is a service you could provide that would help in bring in some extra cash.

    Honestly, I would suggest transferring (if not finishing your associates) and then transferring to a state school. Reason being, their tuition is a fraction of a private school and unless you're major is pre-med or pre-law a private school is a waste of money in this situation. Focus on your grades, try to obtain the highest GPA possible and hopefully windows of opportunity will open as far as seeing breaks on your student loans will go. By the way, if you live on campus and establish yourself as independent even as soon as this upcoming semester I'm almost positive financial aid will come into effect (or play a greater effect) in terms of paying off your college loans goes.
