    Proxy Help

I bought a private proxy today and I can't seem to make it work. I know it's online because I had someone else check it for me. I've tried on chrome and internet explorer, but neither of them are making it work. I've never actually been able to get any to work that require me entering the IP and port into my settings, so I guess it's something in my computers settings that's making it fail. Any ideas on how to fix it? :|

    Proxy Help

I have an update/more info, but no idea if it's any help..

I'm on a wireless connection usually. I do as it says in the tutorials and everywhere else online and put the IP and port info into LAN settings. When I do this, nothing loads. I have a USB internet that I tried with it as well. When I use the LAN settings, it still does not work. However, when its connected, it shows up in the Dialup and VPN settings box under internet properties>connections, and it makes the settings box able to be clicked on. When I type the proxy into there I can get it to work.

I need to be able to use it on my wireless connection though, and I don't understand why it isn't working the same way it seems to work for everyone else. I've tried turning off firewall, AVG, deleting all history, restoring default browser settings, as well as a fairly extensive search of google on how to fix it, but to no avail. Sigh.

Did you buy the proxy itself or were you given a login - password?

There's a difference between a proxy and a VPN, why you would buy a proxy is beyond me when you can find dumps of them on pastebin.

You have no idea what you're talking about, lol.

    Proxy Help

I bought one from here http://www.bestproxyandvpn.com, so I was given the IP and the port number. Then I have a login and password that has to be entered when I use it.

I want it for neopets and thought it would be the best way of doing it for anonymity and so that noone else would be using it, because of how they freeze accounts on there. So it has nothing to do with my ISP or router then? I don't know whether they "Oh I don't" was sarcasm or not. :p + If it's not the ISP or router, then what is it? :\
