Coffee Made From Shit (No, Really.)

So I tried the coffee today.
As soon as I unsealed the package, I smelt a very strong fragrance.
The beans had been roasted for a long time, so the results were very strong.

I don't know if it was just me, but I could have sworn that I could smell a very faint trace of dung. Probably was just me.

But the aroma of the coffee was very strong and good, even though the beans were a bit past their due date, the coffee was delicious and i"m still alive

Have you heard of Luwak coffee?


Recently, a person whom my mother knew got married, went on a honeymoon, and bought this as a present.
It's one of the lowest-production and most expensive coffees in the world.
Why?



This guy eats the coffee berries, digests them, shits them out, and that shit is gathered, cleaned, dried, and roasted. For what? To make coffee, of course.

Whoever first thought of making luwak coffee must have been... mentally ill or something. Nevertheless, it must have been a great idea judging by how popular and expensive they are.

I never thought that I'd get the chance, but I now have the opportunity to drink coffee made from the shit of an animal.

It is supposed to be some of the best coffee in the world. I would love to try it.

 

Um I've read about this. The acid or something in their stomach isn't enough to break the coffee beans down but it causes some kind of chemical reaction to change the coffee bean. It's supposed to be one of the best cups of coffee anyone's ever had so I'd give it a try!

 

i actually saw a video on this last night on vsause2 i think it's the name of the channel and he said he got his dad some for Christmas or whatever and he tried some and it's the best coffee he's ever had himself.

It's also the most expensive coffee in the world

Hey guys, I decided that this was too expensive for me to handle, so I will ask a person I know who has a profession in coffee to try making coffee out of this tomorrow

Wow... I find that really disturbing and disgusting to be honest. I mean it's gross that there are people out there who are actually drinking poop and it's also disturbing that it's "one of the most expensive coffees." I would never drink that.. Ever haha

Yeah, this. The beans are cleaned and then roasted. People are just retarded on here. To answer your question it costs $300 - $600 per pound for the real stuff.

 

You don't drink poop, the beans are cleaned and then turned into coffee. The Civet's digestive system alters the chemical properties of the beans and gives them a distinct taste.
