What is the point of botting?

Seriously, I can understand if your running a massive gold farm, but all those people who pay to play a game, yet, they aren't the ones playing. I know it may save time and effort, but games are meant too be played and enjoyed.
Does it give you pride running around with a skillcape, that you know full-well you didn't obtain?
Can't wait till this 'bot nuke', y'all ruined the game eco.

 

hey, thanks for your input. Not everyone has all day to play, so why would we waste months to get something that a bot can get us in a few weeks? and hopefully we wont be without bots for too long ;D they will be back.

 

You must be lost, go brownnose in the official forums . This is a runescape cheating/black market site, not everyone has enough time to grind away doing the exact fucking same thing over and over again. Looked at your vouches, you seem to buy gold a fair amount gold thats GOLD FARMED BY BOTS, you are just as much a user of bots as the people actually botting by buying the gold farmed gold. Quit being a hypocrite and talking shit about them.

 

1) Gold Farming
2) Automating boring/repudiative tasks so they can do other things with their time. I'm sure most botters legit on their accounts quite a but too, but get the boric/tedious parts out of the way by botting. And then do some of the runner/higher level etc stuff legit. And yeah some people just like having a highly level account, doing it legit or botting either way, you've 'earned' it.

It's not that much of a mystery .

Gold farmers are the one who are ruining the game, not the ones who just skill on a few accounts so they don't have to manually.

 

Well for me I only enjoy certain aspects of the game, for example bossing. I absolutely hate sitting out grinding exp and therefore if I want to go to Bandos I need a maxed account preferably and therefore I bot training the skills which I don't enjoy in order that I can fully play the aspects of the game which I like.

 

I think the only reason I ever liked grinding for stats was because I could talk to the people around me while training. Nowadays the RS community is just crap so I cant train for more than an hour without boring myself, so I choose to bot.

 

not many people want to waste many of hours grinding away at levels, but also have some sort of social life...its easier to leave a program on and you just sitting there for hours clicking away

 

Higher levels = higher level of fun

 

Basically, to get an advantage over other players, and do tideous skills that you hate.

 

It's just a game, what does it matter? As for botting, people do it either because they don't have the time to play legit, or they are too lazy.

 

I suppose this would be different depending on who answers.

As far as my own opinion goes, the most fun I have from botting is creating the bot/script itself. Seeing everything work correctly, constantly tweaking things to perfection, to me that's where the fun is; I enjoy the challenge. It's not something an every-day leecher will experience, and that's unfortunate, because I'm sure if you ask any of the script-writers you'll have very similar responses.

Another thing I like about it is it's kinda like having an employee to play on your account and do those tedious tasks you can't stand. Whats more is this employee (heavily depending on what bot you're using) doesn't cost you money, they work at any time you want them to and they always do as told. That's kinda a fun feeling.

 

I've only ever botted a couple stats (hunting and dung) on my main, though it was only to get them high enough for a quest. They're both daunting skills imo and I really cbf to get them up myself.

Not everyone has the time to go and get a skill cape legit, even if you do, who gives a shit? It's a computer game who cares how you accomplish something.

 

I want to pk but cbf training. Pking is fun; training is not.

 

It leaves me more time to do something that I actually like.

 

If you think clicking constantly over and over is fun then so be it.

 

It's simply a means to achieve what everyone wants: Everyone wants something for nothing. You can get all of your wealth and experience after a few clicks and some waiting while you enjoy your life.
