    Gaming Build

Hello guys! I want to build an awesome gaming computer for around $1,500. I want an HDD, along with an SSD for the OS (idk if that's just something obvious or not, but I included it anyway lol), and I think I want liquid cooling in this son'bitch. Can anyone make me a list of something awesome?!

What country are you from? Is there any specific reason why you are after liquid cooling?

I live in the US. Idk.. I just heard good things about liquid cooling. And isn't it a lot better than fans for things such as overclocking? If I'm wrong just tell me and suggest a good fan?

1500, wow. im jealous :p. I just built an 880$ computer, so i know a little bit. Where are you doing your shopping? i did mine between circuit city (no taxes, just shipping, might depend on your state though.) and Newegg.com (seems to have better deals and more to choose from than tigerdirect.com and circuitcity.com sp?)

before i get started let it be known you could always buy the aurora from dell alienware, alienware.com, thing is quite amazing. are you wanting a monitor? if so how good?

first off I would go with either the i7 3770k (3d capable) or AMD fx 8150 (fantastic specs with 3.6ghz normal, 4.2 overclocked i think?), higher specs than anything ive seen yet i do hear that it is actually slower than the i7 3770k.....I dunno how that is but w/e. those 2 im thinking are if you want dual channel memory, if you want triple or quard, you need to look into the intel xeon (possible one from amd but i didnt see one compatible with tri or quad channel, then again i didnt look either.) or the i7 extreme edition (but i'm thinkin not at a wopping 1k plus lol).

for LQ, you may not really need it if you dont overclock, but might still be nice? i dunno if some high end gfx cards need it? or if u want the fastest memory speed available (that i found) at 2400 mhz (which is overclocked) you might need it or at least memory cooling. also as a side note i was told that you may not even use faster than 1866 memory as most things dont go that fast. I could build you a build on circuit city and/or new egg if you want me to? just say the word assuming i dont forget when i leave this site lol. ill just make a new acc with no important info and give u the pass to view the cart. from there you can get the item numbers and type in the search bar for your own cart(s). im gonna ask that you double check the link though cus i dont wanna get in trouble if i miss copy pasted somehow (dont think I would but just in case!).

Ok guys so I just went on Newegg.com, and I made a list of some parts I want to use for a build. I didn't really know what to pick for the power supply or the heatsink, but take a look at let me know how this looks for a build? Give me tips to make it better? Or if it's good let me know! Thanks!

this will give you an idea of where im at and possibly where im headed with it. I need to change some parts around cus atm its 200$ over. smaller HD would save money, how much HD space do u need? do you want a small fast ssd drive for the main and a big data drive to store things? .do you want a smart cache? needing a monitor too?

far as i can tell that is one of the top of the line gfx cards there is, and it is liquid cooled already. might save some money buying a stand alone cooler for it. anyway, ill fix it more when i get off work.

Email = [email protected] (i know looks bad right, old email) pass is -------- no one mess with it please im trying to help him out here (assuming you are a him lol) feel free to get other opinions, and have other people look at it.

For watercoolers, don't get corsair h series.
If you know how to build your own watercooler, I'd definitely recommend that over anything else.

Ok yeah that link wasn't working, so here is a list of what I put together so far:

    Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119225

    Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130660

    GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130787

    PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005

    CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116501

    RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231486

    HDD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136533

    Heatsink: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118075

    Keyboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823109191

    Monitor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824221020

    Optical Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106289

    OS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116992

This totals around $1,861. I can afford this, but I'm hoping to not spend that much. If anyone can help me get this price lower without sacrificing too much performance, please help? I decided fuck it with water cooling, I don't really need it. Oh yeah I also want an SSD to put the OS on, but if I put that in here, it drives the price over $2,000 :/

Oh yeah Nightfox I went to your link also and the login info worked, but the shopping cart and wishlist sections both had nothing in them :(

Nope, you can get a 60GB 50$ SSD..
And yeah, get watercooling if you are going to overclock, beside that, this computer will run any game you dreamed about running on max setting with fine performance :D

$1,763.79 with tax and shipping i think? and i think my build might be better.... things on edge for me would be changing the case.... kinda hard to tell if its vented enough.... however if its too vented i dunno if there would be much reason for a liquid cooler?

    Okay,
Firstly, why windows 7 pro? Why not just stick with home premium? Unless you intend on running xp mode, then there is no need to for pro.

Secondly, why such an expensive mobo? Something like http://pcpartpicker.com/au/part/asrock-motherboard-z77extreme4

would be just fine and would be even cheaper via the US.

Also, i'd try to steer clear from both the case and the psu as they are fairly unknown to the IT industry, but that's just me, others may have a different opinion.

    Overall, nice build.

Liquid cooling might be an issue depending on what parts you buy. Thought I might throw that out there.

Was this a response to my list of parts or Night Fox?

    And

I don't really feel like I need liquid cooling. Is it really that necessary? Is that heatsink I listed up there ^ any good? Also this will be my first build, how hard is it to install a liquid cooling system vs. a heatsink?
