Xbox 360 Usb Help

Hey, im posting this for my friend. Is it possible to go on the xbox live marketplace and purchase a game like GTA 4 and download it onto a flash drive, that is configured and has enough space for the download, and play the game on the Xbox 360? Or does it only work with a hard drive.
