In football(soccer) money or trophies

In football(soccer) money or trophies in the mordern game whats more important?

 

If you're speaking in terms of professional soccer, don't the two pretty much go hand-in-hand?

Trophies as not everyone can get them. It's an achievements.

You can earn more than any player and have no trophies to show which sucks.
You can earn less but still earn a lot and have trophies to show how good you/team are?

 

The modern game is all about money, absolutely everything revolves around it. If you have enough money you can win anything, players and clubs (the majority of them) no longer care about the fans it's all about sponsorship and television money.

 

Trophies are more important as that's what the clubs WITH money are trying to obtain. Take some clubs for example, Paris Saint Germain and Manchester City, they are filthy rich and have been buying players for large amounts of money in order to win trophies.

So pretty much the money is used to get the trophies (nowadays)
