First thing's first, you need proof you weren't talking to an impostor over steam.

 

If you look at the Steam Chatlog, you can see him telling me his Paypal-Account which is equal to his sythe-name. I added some additional info in my first post.

 

Having a paypal similar to a sythe name isn't good enough to prove you were talking to him. Anyone can go and make a paypal with "mohtasaunique" in their paypal email and pretend to be me. You have to have proof that this user on the forum gave you that steam account that you were chatting with, because then we can prove in turn that the paypal was also his.

 

Unfortunately I gave him my Account name and he added me..

 

I can give him a trade with caution, but until you can prove he's who you were talking to, there isn't enough to ban him

 

It's sad but I understand that you need waterproof evidence. Good is only, I didnt waste more cash.

Some guys must be really desperate; hope there are no more users being scammed by him.


Edit: Does it maybe convince you, when you compare the times of the PMs sent between us and the Steam conversation. It should show you, that he added me right after I gave him my Account name and we talked about the order. Furthermore he stated his mail as i said before (RIGHT after i gave him my acc info on sythe), so in my eyes its pretty unrealistic to talk of an impostor.

 

It is really sad that anyone would make off with 5 dollars, but people are just that desperate. I'm really sorry for your loss, make sure in the future (if you're ever unfortunate enough to run into another scammer) that you have the other trader PM you all their contact information so you can pin it to him.
