Template for a friend

well...I haven't really done any graphics lately. Mostly because I don't feel like it. A friend asked me to make this template for a website he is making about a game he plays called "evony"...idk really anything about the game, so I made this template...

It's the first draft of the template and I will probably change it later...Let me know what you think needs to be changed. I just finished it, so I need to step away and get some crits...

I spent about 2 hours on it, so I think I might like it more than it deserves, but others opinions and my opinion later when I come back and look at it will tell if that's true.

ALSO...I had to redownload photoshop as I didn't have it on my pc anymore...So I was stuck with default fonts and such because I was too lazy to find better ones...

I would remove the drop shadow from the text on the navbar though.

 

thanks...and yeah, I did it for the "home" button, but I forgot to do it for the rest

atm, I am iffy about this..Seems too green and sort of meh...I might just remake it all together...

Any other opinions?

I think that the social networking icons on the bottom left corner would be nice in their own colors. For example, Facebook as it's default color (Blue and white).

Other than that, it's pretty nice. Just a few adjustments and it'll look much better. Well done!

 

I'm not a fan of the colors they are....I made custom icons so that they matched the site...Lots of sites do that. As long as you know its tumblr, facebook and twitter I think it's fine..

I am probably just going to scrap this and start over...

also, I meant to take out the drop shadow on the navigation bar...but It was 7:30am and I was tired so I forgot..lol..

 

Wow, I like it. Although, I would lighten up on the drop shadows and make a different navigation bar.

 

There is only drop shadow on the logo part (it needs to stay) and the navigation bar...The navigation bar was supposed to have the drop shadow taken off...

Also, yeah..if I don't scrap this (which I am 90% sure I will) then I was planning on changing it...the buttons seem too big to me.

One of the big factors in why I am probably going to scrap it is because 1. It's too green and 2. The BG image is a composite image I made of different things I found, which means I would have to make a HUGE image that can be resized for different resolutions...I don't really feel like doing that...lol...
