Exactly how risky is gold buying?

Well I am just now getting back into RS. And I'm looking to buy some gold around 40m to cover the rest of my goal of 95 pray. How risky would it be buying 40m? Or is there much risk at all? I know most people on here trade 100m at a time and there's usually no problems. But after my friend lost 300m on a transfer between his pure and main I'm kinda nervous. What do you guys here think of risks?

Ok thank you, and on another note. Is there any possible way to still use a prepaid card to buy gold or have the laws on them completely made it impossible?

Yes you are able to use it with paypal, you just need to add the card to you're paypal account. but many gold sellers will not take direct paypal you would have to buy via Playerauctions which is what most gold sellers on sythe use for paypal payments. just go to any large gold seller onsythe and they will have a link to there playerauctions listing, then just place an order and pay with paypal you should get you're gold in no time.
