Do you ever wish you were back at school?

Lately I've been thinking how hard things are now, having to pay ridiculous amounts of money for my car, buying my own clothes, buying my own food and drinks, paying rent, the list goes on. I hardly have time to do the things I enjoy now. With being in Uni I'm kind of relaxed as I enjoy learning, but I have a job as well, when I combine the two I have no time for anything and I'm always tired.
Have you ever heard your parents complain about work or anything, then thought "omg why complain you guys have an awesome life", they tell you that it's all good for us in school.

Well let me tell you younger people reading, still in school. Enjoy your life.

I was just sitting here thinking and then I thought "damn.. Even though I hated school, that was the best time ever" I didn't have to worry about any of the above.
    Anyway.. I'm rabbling on now.
My question to the older members of Sythe:
Do you ever wish you were back at school?

I've been finished with school for about a year and a half now, and I've been out of high-school since Sophomore year, so probably a good 3 years of so I've been away from there, and I absolutely miss it.

I miss detentions, I miss staying for all four lunch periods, sneaking in classrooms, sneaking out of classrooms. I miss going out to the parking lot, I miss the douche-bag rednecks that would always give us rides for a cigarette. I miss the teachers, the vast amount of tail, and I even miss ISS!

It's all apart of growing up, but I look back a lot and wish I could have stayed longer than I did.

Yeah I miss it for the sociability lol, After highschool I moved to the country and now any time I want to go see a friend let alone leave my house gas money is always in the question, doesn't help when your employer overstaffed the fuck out of your company and picking up shifts becomes a chore. Even if the lessons and getting up early sucked I kinda miss getting up and walking 2 minutes to school and having your peers everywhere lol. But now that I think about it, I didn't get along with a good 70% of the people I went to school with and the people in my life now are vastly superior lol

I'm currently about to graduate High School and I've had a job since junior year.

I hate school but I do agree with you.

It's kind of scary if you think about it, YOU'LL NEVER STOP WORKING after your first job to be honest...

I definitely miss high school, something that I NEVER thought I would say.

I was forced out of my parents home when I was 17 and in my last year of high school, and had to carve my own path from there on. My graduation year was very stressful because I had to juggle work, living on my own, and making sure I did well in all my classes. When I graduated at the end of that long year, I thought I would never, ever go back.

It only took me a few years of living on my own to change my mind and want to come back to school. As much fun as I had just working & partying all the time, I got tired of 'the grind' I guess, and decided I wanted something more for my life than making a measly $14 and living pay cheque to pay cheque. So far, college is pretty great, but there is something about those high school years that I will always miss. I had so much fun back then and I wish I had cherished it more while it was happening :p

Then again, i haven't really left School, i've been working in Schools since i graduated. It's a bit strange going from high School straight into a Staff roll haha

and yeah i miss it like shit. best years, seriously. 0 responsibility, a social atmosphere you'll never come across again and basically just a free ride. it's pretty lame to think ill probably be stuck in the 9-5 grind for 40 years of my life after university. fuck that

I don't miss it in the slightest to be honest....
High School was fun, but when I left I gained independence. The social life that came with University for me was tenfold more fun, I'm studying and doing something I love, not to mention the girls side of things is mental - but in an awesome way.

I loved school, but going back and sitting in a classroom all day waiting for the next house party wouldn't really compare to the life I'm living now.

But I have thought about it sometimes, But I still live with my parents and am saving for a mortgage deposit so life is very tight at the moment ! :)

I always reminisce about my primary school days.

They were awesome and sadly can never be relived again.

I do also miss high school as none of my mates go to the same uni as me, but I've met some great people at uni nonetheless.

I miss some parts of it. In all honesty, I miss any point before mid to late 2009. I was only actually in high school for my freshman year. After that I became homeschooled as my family started to move around a lot because of my dad's work. We moved to the Ukraine for a little while (neighbor to my home country, Russia), California, Tennessee, Texas, New York, all in the span of 3 years. It was ultimately decided by myself, with the consent of my parents, that I would be better off homeschooled. I had already moved around a couple places when I was younger, and had lost a lot of friends because of this; I didn't want to have to go through this again.

From the year I did spend in a typical high school setting and being in middle school, I do miss it. Everything was easier, homework and life in general; I had no responsibilities. Also everyone was so innocent. At that age the people around me were still fairly innocent. Not too many were involved in drugs or sex (the latter lasted until freshman year). Now I find out that friends I used to have are now either heavy into drugs, pregnant, or dropped out of high school (although this isn't everyone).

I missed out on a lot of experiences in high school, so I miss not having that. I miss my friends, I miss my lack of responsibilities, and I miss the easiness of school. However, with all this being said, I'm having a great experience now.

EDIT: I see some posts about not getting along with their peers in high school. I never really had a problem with that. I really can't think of anyone that didn't like me. I'm not saying that I was this uber popular kid, I was just nice and people respected that for some reason. I never had a problem with bullies, people being rude, being judged, and I had a decent amount of friends.

One thing I do regret is not asking out this one girl who had a crush on me for 3 years. It was kind of a weird situation. She liked me from 7th grade until I moved in 10th grade. In 7th and most of 8th grade, I liked her best friend. During the last of 8th grade and the rest of 9th grade I liked her. I knew that she liked me, and she was painfully obvious about it. I'm not 100% sure why I didn't ask her out. We'd flirt around and tease each other a lot, but I never actually asked her out. I think it had something to do with me knowing that I was going to be moving. Towards the end of 8th grade my parents told me that we'd either be moving back to Russia or the Ukraine and that they weren't 100% sure when they were going to move. It took them another year and a half to decide on it. So we moved there for about a year and then moved back to the states in a completely different state from her. From what I understand is that she was pretty pissed when I moved. It sucks, too, because she was one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen. I'd post a picture, but I don't want people stalking her, but you'd agree. I've seen pictures of her recently on Facebook (a website of which I'm not a frequent visitor, but will visit once in a blue moon), she still looks as beautiful as ever. I haven't bothered contacting her because #1 We're going to schools in completely different states about 900 miles from each other, and #2 I'm not sure if she has a boyfriend or not. It's my understanding that she hasn't had any really serious boyfriends over the years. A friend who I keep in contact with said that she was pretty upset when I left and apparently liked me a lot. Who knows, maybe one of these days I'll talk to her.

I finished school in 2009. I'm in University now studying paramedics and have a ton of new friends.
It's been 3 years now and I still miss being in high-school with buddies and bitches.
I don't miss being IN high-school, I just miss all the moments that happened WHILE I was in high-school.
Not seeing my friends everyday anymore makes me want to go back and stay in high-school. Being a troll to teachers together, perving on chicks in the city after school, wagging class to go gym and sleep/chill/talk in the Steam Room/Sauna (no homo) WITH the female friends too. Thinking back now, I regret hooking up with only one of the girls in my friendship group :(

Now in 2012, I know for a fact that our entire group has split.
Everyone went their separate ways growing up, one went to med school, a couple went to a Catering group, one gave up studying to be a chef, ones working full-time in a Pharmacy, the rest I have no idea where they are and I'm still in the gym isolating myself everyday from the outside world for god knows what reason.
Typing all this is actually making me reminisce and feeling very sad so I'm gonna stop.

My brother who is in his third year at NYU, says that highschool was an incredible experience. Also, at college, he says that money starts become a really big problem. Sometimes, he can only afford to eat peanuts or ramen noodles.

Well, I do miss the social part, being able to see my friends everyday (I stopped talking to a lot of them since I been out of school). However, I don't miss the homework, classes, or the bullshit drama.
