How many bots can I run on this...?

I'm thinking of building my own server and here are some of the specs to help your answer:

I will be running SIMBA

3.2GHz processor
32GB RAM

 

Overkill on the RAM.
And just saying 3.2Ghz doesn't help too much, what brand, how many cores?

CPU is the limiting factor/what matters most.

Also different scripts take up different amounts of CPU.

 

Its 3.2 sandy bridge xenon quad core.

 

My guess is, maybe 6-8?

 

Then would you know how many would work on a AMD FX 8 core 3.6 (4.2 turbo) processor with 16gb of ram?

 

Not super sure, but I'm guessing AT LEAST 12 but probably a few more than that.

My Phenom II X 6 at 3.85GHz can run 8 easily (while I still use the computer) and can probably do 10ish max. So you can use those stats to guess for yourself.

I think the best way to go (assuming money ain't a thang ) would be an i7 if you can afford, and then buy a cooler, and overclock it.

 

I recommended a $800 setup to one of my customers who wanted to run 10 on his.

 

I would say about 15 or more 12-15 if he were to use a more bloated bot like epicbot.
