would the computer build be decent?

hi so im thinking about making myself a relatively cheap custom PC for gaming and heres what i came up with, please tell me if it would be decent/what i should upgrade (given it isnt much more expensive):

Here's what i ended up buying:

    case : http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=57910&vpn=Z9 Plus&manufacture=ZALMAN TECH&promoid=1114

    RAM: http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=5...Mushkin Enhanced&promoid=1114#CustomerReviews

    PSU: http://ncix.com/products/?sku=65503&vpn=HALE82-650-M&manufacture=NZXT

    CPU: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116506

    Mobo: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138355

    video card: http://ncix.com/products/?sku=57361

Total cost of build: ~ 900$

Final spec should be something along those lines:

    -3.5GHz i5-3450 quad core processor
    -8Gb RAM @ ~1333MHz
-GeForce GTX 570 Fermi 732MHZ 1280MB video card
    -LGA 1155 Intel Z77 motherboard
    -500GB harddrive

it'll replace a 5 year old AMD phenom system! cannot wait

Wrong section, should be in Tech Support. It will get moved.

Case - Seems alright for it's price.

Processor - I prefer Intel, but either way a very nice choice.

Graphics card - Very nice, I find Nvidia is more optimised for games though.

    PSU - Absolutely fine.

Hard Drive - 1TB, not bad. Consider SSD if you want a very fast data transfer rate.

RAM - I have the same RAM, and no problems.

Motherboard - Similar to mine, ASUS are the best. Should last you a long time.

I would choose an Intel processor (Intel i5 2500k is a nice choice) http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=57962&vpn=BX80623I52500K&manufacture=Intel.
And maybe an Nvidia Graphics card, something out of the 600 series would be nice but a bit pricey.

reason i chose that processor is because that motherboard did not support intel's iSeries :S

and yea, 600 serie is pretty costly :S a bit out of my budget atm, would i be better off going with something like this one instead of the current one in my list?

also, what is the difference between i5 2500k and i5 3570k ? other than 1070k xD cuz on ncix the i5 3570k is on sale for same price as 2500k

Yeah, I saw that with the Motherboard not supporting Intels. If want a Motherboard that takes Intel's then have a look at: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8P67/
I use the same Motherboard, and it's very nice.

I have the exact same graphics card as you recommended, it's very, very good. However the GTX 570 or 580 will have gone down in price now so it wouldn't hurt to have a look at them. The 560 ti is fine though if you choose to get it.

The difference is one is slightly more powerful than the other, why the prices are the same I don't know, it happens sometimes. The i5 3570k is the most powerful out of the two.

You don't HAVE to get an SSD, I still have both my HDDs. But yeah, you could get an SSD to install your OS on and such. And yes, you could use your other HDD for storing films and such.

That SSD seems alright, I should note SDDs are a lot more expensive than HDDs at the moment.

It looks a pretty good price, that would last you a good few years. the 500 series in terms of 560 and above are still very good. I think your PSU is enough for it also, so there's no need to change that.
