Will Runescape Last 11 More Years?

Just thought i would ask to see what other sythe users think.

 

I would think there would be a sort of "rs3" or maybe they will eventually require you to download it once it becomes to much for the browser..kinda like Warrock or something

 

I'll be surprised if it pasts 2-3. They're wrecking it completely..soon they minimum reqs on your comp to play will be so high...the gameplay is slowly going down..last good quest was wgs and look at the date..

It might. It all depends on funding. They've currently been spending money on banning all the bots, and as a result, have added more adverts and doubled the membership price (if you buy from them directly). As for 11 years, that's a long time to look ahead. It currently holds a guiness world record for "the worlds most popular free MMORGP". So as it is, the chances of them continuing is quite high.

Yes. Even if its popularity crashes (which I doubt) they can still quit updating it (or much more rarely) and it'd still be profitable even if only a fraction still plays it.

 

Probably, but it's been getting worse for years, yet it's still appealing to someone.

 

Once it is running out of funding, they will simply cease to update it and lower the number of runescape worlds to a much smaller number, and let it live, kind of like what they do with RSC right now. The game will never really die IMO.

 

I think it will downsize greatly and updates happen alot less. As JaGex is currently working on a new game similar to RS but in a more futuristic setting I believe.

Yes, with the lame and useless updates that make you lag even more, i doubt runescape will last for another2-4 years.

Stellar-Dawn Is supposed to launch at the end of the year or early 2013...

Its only 18+ i think.

 

Yes, it will because people have doubted it would stay for this long and it has.

 

I'd say no. Its slowly losing support as it is.

As long as a decent amount of people continue to play, I'd say yes. If they stop making money, no.
