    The Danette's Logic

This article is about self-improvement and working towards a more selfless person. If you tend to act on impulse and regret afterwards, this will definitely help you. If you desire to be a more caring and thoughtful person, this article will also benefit you greatly!

Danette is the daughter of a friend of my father's. What makes her special is her selflessness and the immense positive energy which surrounds her. If you asked me to list examples of her selflessness, it would run for pages and pages...

So what exactly is the Danette's logic about? The Danette's logic is about following her as a role model. At times when we find ourselves tired, angry, irritated or upset, we are prone to making errors that might hurt the people around us.

Following the Danette's logic, whenever we find ourselves in that situation, we stop and place Danette in our shoes. Then we think what she would do if she was in our position. ( eg. while we are engrossed in a computer game and mom asks us to do her a favour, we get irritated and tell her to stop bothering us. Instead, when we follow Danette's logic, we think of what Danette would do in our shoes. In this case, instead of snapping off at mom, Danette might get off the computer for five minutes and help mom out. We then follow suit. ) Of course, you can replace Danette with another name or person, it is totally up to you.

This exercise will give us time to think before we make decisions that we might regret later on. It will also reduce our impulsiveness and transform ourselves into a more caring and unselfish person. By taking more time to think before we at, we also become more thoughtful of our actions and make better decisions.

Danette's logic? I don't seem to get this. If you can't control your actions your a child I believe. I mean I understand taking a break and thinking about a situation but I don't understand Danette's logic or (name) logic. Sounds like you just think before you do or you realize hey my mom/father is asking me to do something and i love them and they give me everything i pretty much have *understand not everyone's parents are not like that* I guess I could the few things they ask me. Not trying to flame or anything, just don't understand the "logic"?

No offense taken ^_^ Well basically sometimes when we are in a situation where we sometimes are about to act in a selfish manner
    .
So, to prevent that from happening, we think of the person that we have in mind as a role model, and think what that person would do in that situation, and try our very best to follow suit. Hence, by doing so, we condition ourselves to be less selfish and be more carring people.

Do you remember that time when you acted on impulse because you were emotional? I'm sure a large majority of us have instances when we acted on impulses due to our emotional state at the point of time. Does that make us all children?

Yup, this is pretty much what we are trying to achieve here, to think before we do.

heres an example : i have this friend of mine whom is 1 year my junior. I would say his different, in terms of his emotional intelligence. On facebook he tells me most of his friends don't reply him ( go offline when he talks to them ) However, like all of us, he needs emotional support from other beings. That being said, due to his family background, he doesn't receive the emotional support an average family would provide. Therefore, he requires support from other areas ( teachers, friends... )

He talks to me about those problems, and i must say it can be tiring sometimes to be hearing his problems, and having conversations which i have totally zero interest in. I just act as a listening ear, as a form of support.

However, sometimes when i am tired, and he starts a facebook convo with me, i am so damn tempted to just appear offline. At this point of time i think of Danette/ANYNAME, and think what she/he would be doing here. Danette would listen to friend in need, so i would follow suit to.

Thats how the Danette's logic has helped me:) to work my way to be a more selfless person

I understand the point of this, and that many people would mouth off at their parents when busy gaming.

I'm fairly sure that Danette wasn't the first one to think of this however ~.^
