My teammates were super friendly, knew how to play...
All in all a great game.

There must be a darker side.

It gets much, much worse. Anything under 1700 is hell in my opinion. Just try to stay positive and try to be helpful. You'll always come across pissy people but your attitude can affect the game for everyone so always keep that in mind.

 

You get morons, ragers, trolls and feeders in every ELO bracket all the way up to 2.4. Only difference is general skill level of players. There is no 'ELO heaven.'

If you're expecting skilled friendly players get a few buddies and play a 5v5

 

True but they often make less mistakes at higher elo.
