Cigarettes.

I don't smoke, nor have I ever tried it. I do breathe in the fumes a lot from my dad though.

 

I don't smoke. I've tried cigarettes in the past, just nothing really special about them to me. A good cigar once in a while is always nice though.

Most people don't smoke cigars like people smoke cigarettes. A cigar once in a while is alright, but if you smoking 10 cigs in a day, there's a problem. Plus, Cigars taste better than cigarettes.

 

Me too. I only tried a few packs of Marlboro Gold some time ago but I cannot say I like smoking cigarettes.

 

What's the point of smoking cigarettes? There is none...there is only negative effects and ZERO positive effects - unless of course you consider yourself 'cool' when you smoke or something, then I guess that's a positive.

 

It's an addiction. Do you not know what nicotine is?

 

Why does everyone say there is no point in cigarettes when they haven't even smoked one before? There are certain reasons why people smoke. It's not only because they're addicting and no one does it to be cool unless you're like 12. Cigarettes are something you either like or you don't, and you just don't know until you touch one.

This thread shouldn't be about how bad they are for you. If you don't smoke, then that's great, but there is no need to keep stating the obvious. Everyone knows smoking is a bad habit to get into, but it's not going to kill you if you only smoke a couple each day either. Of course a lot of people do smoke much more than that, but it's still not that hard to keep it under control if you really want to. I've been smoking for 8 years and I simply do it because I enjoy them. I don't at all consider myself addicted to them and only go through a pack about every week. I never really crave them and some days I won't even touch one. I barely ever even smoke when I'm sober. I have no intentions on quiting right now because I don't smoke enough for it to cause any problems for me. I've never had any breathing issues and I can still exercise just fine.

And I usually smoke Marlboro Milds. They just came out with Marlboro Blacks which are really good and cheap too, so I've been getting those lately.

 

I don't see the appeal of cigarettes. I grew up in a house without smoke and when I visted my anut and ungle downstate I would hate it. I loved my uncle and would want to see him, but could not deal with the smoke. Everything smelled like smoke and I just wanted to get away and I felt trapped like it was closing in on me. Its hard to breathe when around the smoke as well. Since I was a child I knew I was never going to smoke.

If other people want to smoke than its fine its not my bussiness. I just try to remove myself if it bothers me to much.

 

^this. Thanks for clearing this thread up. It was just meant to discuss what kind everyone smokes. Not get into a debate about how bad it is for you. If you don't smoke them, so be it. Comment if you feel the need, but otherwise your 2 cents don't mean anything to me.

smoked a couple of packs of marolboro reds at Schoolies/a month and the occasional at a party but in the last year i haven't touched them.

i just smoke weed or mugwort herbs once in a while instead

 

I smoked Kools for a while, now I smoke Camel Crush Bolds.

 

Actually I remember reading somewhere that cigars are safer becasue you breathe in much less smoke than you would with a cigarette. The fumes are some much more concentrated that you don't actually breath them in.
As for me, I don't really have access to anybody who can get cigs for me and I'm under 18 so I haven't tried yet.

 

How exactly am I in denial? Why don't you explain yourself instead of pretending you know shit. I guess apparently you know me better than I do? You want to give me a lesson on the negative effects of smoking? You seem to be the pro here considering you've smoked 2 whole packs in your life and you can't even spell Marlboro.

 

No addict considers themselves addicted. Just saying. Nicotine is addictive to everyone. Just like caffeine.

That's bullshit. We aren't talking about drugs here. Nicotine isn't mind altering, therefore it's not hard to admit you're addicted if you really are. Choosing not to quit doesn't mean you're in denial. Just because you do something that can be addictive doesn't automatically mean you are. Pretty much anything can be addicting if abused. I guess nobody should have sex, watch TV, play games, or pretty much anything since they might get hooked huh?

A true physical addiction is needing something to be able to function and get through the day. Considering I haven't had a cigarette since Friday or even thought about it, I think it's safe to say I'm not addicted in anyway whatsoever. It's not that I couldn't have either since I just bought a fresh pack. A few years ago, I went through at least a pack a day and I gladly admitted that I had a problem, which is why I've cut down as much as I have. I don't need a lesson from people who have no clue what they're talking about, especially when they have no experience with addiction. Put some effort into your argument instead of posting useless shit or don't post at all.

take it easy. You said you have been smoking for 8 years, and smoke a pack a week, and you know that you're not addicted. That sounds like denial.

If you knew anything about a nicotine addiction, then you would know that a pack a week is nothing. There isn't one person out there who is truly addicted to cigarettes and smokes that little, let alone can go a day without one. It doesn't matter how many years I've been smoking either. That doesn't mean anything. Saying I'm in denial about something you know nothing of is just insulting.
