    Quick question about PayPal

I'm not sure if this is the right section or not but, just needed a question answered.

I bought something off eBay but, since I had no money on my PayPal account, it took it from my father's bank account that was attached to my PayPal in the form of an eCheck payment. Now, the item has never been sent to me so, the buyer is obviously trying to scam and I want to chargeback the payment however, if I do so, I don't want to have the chargeback be notified to my father's bank account. Is there a way if I chargeback, it will only stay within PayPal and if I win the case, the money will go to my PayPal account or if I chargeback will they need my father to call the bank and make a statement stating that he is disputing the transaction and all that crap?

    Quick question about PayPal

I believe that in the case of a chargeback, the funds will be directed to your paypal account. If you wish, you can transfer them back to your father's account from there.

    Quick question about PayPal

Yes, but, the main question is that since it was paid via eCheck (through my father's bank account), if I file a chargeback on PayPal, will the bank have to be notified and need my dad to approve of the chargeback and all that other crap or in this case does it not matter and all the disputing will be dealt with on PayPal itself?

    Quick question about PayPal

I think your dad will not need to know, and you should be able to put it back into your dads account.
Also if its your dads card and you used it to buy something, is that not illegal?

    Quick question about PayPal

No, there is no such a thing as chargeback approval.

    Quick question about PayPal

They will most likely use the contact details on your papal account as they shouldn't have access to your fathers details.
