Is it me or has runescape been getting shitier and shitier?

So today i went on rs and was just like, this game is so horrible. Like when you hear the word "game" you'd think fun. But im literally finding this game to be a chore more than fun. So you want to be good in the game, you have to spend hours on end on pointless shit, for instance mining. How does one find clicking on rocks fun or pleasurable? When you could be playing a game like cod or bf3? Which doesn't take nearly as long but seems a hell lot funner. This is just my opinion. Like i find that this game will be going down hill what are your opinions?

Well that's just how the game was designed. Was it designed well? No. But it hasn't ever not been a grind.

 

like in my honest opinion the game was 100% better with bots around.

 

Some people can't stand playing games unless they have goals to work towards.

I quit RS after getting maxed cape (as well as over 2200 total on another 138), partly because I was done with the skills, and partly because I had already spent so much time on the game.

It doesn't demand as much time as you are making it out to be if you are focused, 99's are fast as hell compared to how they used to be.

And, one of the major pluses to RuneScape over other games, is the fact that you can log off and stop what you are doing at any time (well, unless you are in the middle of a Dung or something I guess, and even then you can log off for a little bit and come back on and still be in the Dung) and it not affect your game play when you come back.

All in all, yes it does take a lot of your life away in the end, but at least you have something to show for it.

But, to please people like you, Jagex has said they are going to implement ways to reduce the grind exponentially.

As long as they make training more fun but take as long i'll be ok with it. But if they make training even faster then it already it'll be messed up/

 

The game is designed to be hard to obtain certain items and it takes a lot of hard work and dedication. Personally I am just playing to make IRL cash atm.

 

I find that the game has become alot laggier along with the slow fps etc. This is one of the main downturns of the game for me.

odviously just based on the amount of people lookin forward to 2006rs/ps
what is it like 60,000+ now jagex has done more then one thing wrong just my opinion.....
imagine if there was disks for rs lol like every 2 years?
kinda like wow and you could just play on whatever one u wanted?

Runescape and any FPS shouldn't be compared.

They're two completely different games. If you're going to compare the enjoyment factor, then compare it to a game in it's own genre, otherwise, you're just silly. D=

 

^ the game has always been about the grind. The really fun things to do are pvp, stealing creation, and maybe dung.

But Runescape is the best browser-based mmorpg I have ever played, and I think jagex should be proud that their game has been this successful, and has spawned so many great communities like Sythe.

 

I feel like it used to funner when I was younger.. Maybe just because all my friends played it..

 

It was designed well, but it was re-designed, and it is an absolute disaster now.

 

It's getting better with every update there is so much stuff to do now. I think you have just grown out of it or found much more fun things to do. If you have a certian goal on the game I find it fun and amazing when you actualy acheive it.

I agree with you, 100%. RS has been so boring compared to about 3 years ago when it was fun. All I want to do is PK, So I also go on a private server which is super fun

 

It's because they can't leave it alone. Simple as that. Yes, updates are nice, but not constant ones which drastically chane the game. It's went a completely different direction than what it used to be.
