How can I speed up my computer?

Hello, basically i bought this computer around 8 or so months ago, and it has been working well for the most part. I used it for a while to run bots, and all went well.

However, now that I've got a little more into computer games, I find that my computer can't run certain games fairly well (choppy gameplay). My computer cannot run Skyrim, Saints Row, and many other games. It also can't run RS on HD. I've lowered all of the graphics to low, but nothing really changes.
Also, when I do try to run these games, my computer's fan seems to get really loud, and I've made sure that it's not pressed against a wall, it has a lot of breathing space.

Is there something that my computer lacks? Is it my video card, or my processor? Or what? My RAM seems to be fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Your processor and RAM look fine, although if you could get us the graphic card model that would be great. If it turns out to be a good graphic card then perhaps you have outdated drivers or have not defragged your PC in a while. Come back with the graphic card model and then I can tell if it's the PC or the graphic card.

Yes, that is the model. It's integrated from what I can see and intergrated graphics are never good for gaming. You should be able to run every game at it's lowest setting at the very least. But if you want to be able to run them better than I would probably look for a better graphic card, the Nvidia GFX series is a good place to start.

 

Well if you can't play RS in HD, i don't think it's a problem with with the graphics card.

The fan problem, is their a lot of dust around/on tower unit?

 

Do you have any reccomendations for a reasonable priced graphics card? The ones on newegg are expensive.

No, there is no dust around it. I clean it every few weeks.

 

The problem is your graphics card. What do you consider a reasonably priced graphics card?

 

I'm not sure really. Probably around $100.

Your fan is supposed to speed up when temperatures rise.

 

Remember cleaning the dust out of your fans helps keep temperatures down as well, overheating is never good for your PC, it will run slower and shorten it's life

 

Well how can I lower the temperature? It's not pressed against anything, and my room isn't really that hot. It makes abnormal noises, I can hear it from downstairs.

I do clean it out.

 

When you increase the load on your computer (by playing a game) it creates more heat, so the fan's run faster to keep everything at a safe temperature. That's supposed to happen, the fact that the fans get loud when under load doesn't by itself indicate that anything is wrong. I don't know what you mean by abnormal noises, if it's making sounds that seem like something other than fans spinning fast then you should probably replace it. Case fans are cheap.

 

By abnormal I mean that the fan should not get this loud. I used to play a few games that take up the same amount of CPU usage before, and it never got this loud. Is there a fan I should buy to stop this? Or should I clean the fan every day?
