I highly doubt it will die ANYTIME soon. It came out like a week ago man, and has since sold millions of copies. I for one, will not be quitting any time soon. I'm sure many others feel the same way. Sure, it may not be a WoW killer, but that's because WoW is killing itself (as I have experienced, being a 4+ year WoW player).

MMO gamers don't seem to understand the concept of co-existence that exists in every single other genre. You're correct, TOR has already racked up more than 1 million active subs within the opening launch hours. With the level of content within the game, I can only see it growing. However, I guess it's future will depend on the quality and frequency of the updates to the end-game content.

    The game

The game is terrible. Here's why:

-Class unbalance. Self-healing tank classes (Sage / Commando / Some Smuggler) have a distinct advantage over everyone else in that they can easily tank in a 2to1 ratio forever. Gunslinger DPS can't even bring them down.

-Economy. It doesn't exist. Money doesn't have any value in this game. At level 30 I have 300k from Slicing, a skill they "fixed." There's no need to grind for gear at end game since you can have it crafted cheap, and PvP armor costs pvp points (also cheap and easy to get).

-No end game content. No raids at end game, and even if there were, the gear and schematics is all gained from crafting and reverse engineering, and scavenging. No objective based pvp either. You go to a planet at level 50 and fight with the enemy. No forts, no missions, no resources (and even if there were resources, they'd mean nothing).

-Took me 7 days to hit level 50. The missions are all the same vanilla, and after level 30 it becomes a mission-grind or pvp-grind, your choice. Both blow.

This game is going to go tits up in a month if they don't add end game content. There's no hamster wheel, and once everyone gets bored of the same, repetitive PvP, Star Wars will become Star Trek Online.

Save your money for Planetside 2. It'll be much more worth it.
