Well, I know it says it will never happen. But a year and a half later, there could be quite a few experienced people here now and with free trade, enough people willing to invest who have benefited from Sythe to help fund it.

That project was abandoned, I think. Anyway, an MMORPG isn't something you should plan on creating unless you got a really dedicated team, and very few people actually know programming around here. Sythe is a market, not a game.

 

I totally agree that we are a market. At the same time, we have private server and coding sections. I'm sure finding like 5-10 commited coders isn't a problem, especially if funds aren't a problem. That's where a market helps us. Most attempts of creating these games frail due to lack of funds.

 

I had a couple of good ideas that were moved to phase two of the section, sadly it is now defunct.

 

It would be cool, but then again its impossible to see that ever happening. The amount of funding needed would be outstanding. Not even to mention the time needed to code something like that. Crazy. But it would be awesome.

 

I also. Heard the project was dropped is it true?

If we wanted to do this, we would need experienced scripters and modelers of which, like stated above, we do not have.

unless we were to use some "create your own rpg" software and such..

 

There's no-one currently here who has enough talent, experience or dedication to even scratch the surface. If there is, they never bothered to involve themselves, and why would they? They wouldn't be getting much out of it at all.

To summarise exactly why it failed: No progress. No people to make progress. No money to provide an incentive to make progress.
