I logged onto my RuneScape account for a whole two minutes and find out that I'm muted. Why you might ask? For an offense from six months ago. That is ridiculous. Jagex needs to suck a dick. Has this ever happened to anyone else?​

If you committed an offence months ago then you should pay for it.
If people scam on Sythe and nobody finds out until 6 months after they don't just let you off with a slapped wrist because it was months ago, they ban you.

Is it a permanent ban or a temporary ban?

If you weren't on, you'd change your password. It's a bit weird if someone was on your account and ONLY got you muted without doing anything else.

hm.. that is weird, i know back on classic you used to be able to email jagex evidence of that kinda stuff and they'd take action, my brother got his account banned for telling guy on yahoo he shares his account. i wonder if thats what happened here

I think thats a little ridiculous... I agree with the guy above somewhere who said that an offence is an offence, and that you should have to pay for it regardless of when it was committed. But with something like a mute, you obviously said something that broke a rule and got reported. But you think that Jagex would take action against you right away so you can serve your mute immediately.

Getting served 6 months later? That is the equivilant of a Jagex mod pulling down his pants and mooning you, while slapping his ass and saying "GF BUDDAYYYY!". I don't see any other reason why it would take half a year to process and investigate a simple offence that deserves a 3 day mute. Suck man.. Just wait out the 3 days
