old news that idea has res-surfaced lately, but jagex already had captchas in classic, if they where going to sue them i doubt they would have removed them.

 

To be honest, even though I DO bot, I like the idea of having captcha's.

It won't happen often, just as a Random doesn't happen often (Even though it depends on what you're doing) and also, Alot of people would legit more often, I'd honestly stop botting and play legit.

 

I support the captcha idea. I'm a botter but I'm all for getting rid of these gold farming assholes that wreck my botting experience lol.

If they implement a captcha program and it works then like 70% of their $$$ income is gone because of bots that bought members. Anyway, the only one he said that would possibly work is the traditional "typing what it says in the picture".

And I doubt if it would prevent any bots at all because RS is written in JAVA and a captcha is for WEB SITES (i.e, stopping an auto account makers).

 

It would kind of ruin the feel of the game.. But a must needed step.

 

What is needed to stop most bots is for jagex to improve their system in detecting BCL. This would stop most of them, but all NeXuS and RID bots would still be online to keep prices down. Nothing can be done to stop bots. People make bots for a living, (Rsbuddy's staff and Kiko maker of iDungeon for example). No matter what jagex does, or how many bot hunts they launch, no one can stop bot makers or players from botting. They can only slow us down.

I'd love this and it's not a problem for me as I am most of the time on my computer and can enter the captcha's... anyways, how often do you get random events? Not too often. Botting got way out of hand and is ruining the market.

Hope they implement this.

True facts lame... We solved this problem a long time ago. For those of you who don't know. In RSC every action created more fatigue. Eventually you had to sleep (if you didnt no exp was gained). Jagex tried to stop botting with a captcha but this was solved within a week with LeoSleeper.

How would your gP sell for less: Botting would be harder-> Less goldfarmers -> gP costs more?

And it has nothing to do with having a life/ nolifing, look at Runescape, some people have like 100 goldfarmers on it, it's out of control.

I do bot myself on 1, maybe 2 accounts... I ain't ruining no game.

 

I think people would revert to afk-botting where they check their computers here and there ensuring that it's running. It wouldn't be a fool proof system.

I think the Chinese bot farming epidemic can afford to have people around the clock checking bots in intervals to make sure they are still running. Isn't that what they do already though?
