Max Cash, hmmmmm...

So I as well as many others have had the dream of getting max cash. I plan on getting it within 6 months as well as maxing my combat!

But famous stakers and pkers also have max cash piles (even a few stored in ge), at 2147m, and this is because the program runescape is run on (java) has thier highest number at 2,147 million. Do you think it would be good to see java update thier highest number? So a max cash stack would be 5b, 6b, 10b!!!

They would need to reprogram the game in another programming language which is not going to happen. Max integer in Java is 2^31-1(2,147,483,647), you can hold money in spirit shards which technically you can hold 107B(107,374,182,350).

I think that's enough, they could always increase price of spirit shards or do something else like it if it's ever needed.

yea theirs always things that you can put urmoney in and shouldnt see much of a loss possibly even a profit

 

Runes and other items prices changes all the time and might take a while to sell, spirit shards you can sell them to shop at static price, 25gp each.

Just buy partyhats, spirit shards sell at the same price you bought them but partyhats will go up.

 

I doubt they will ever change the max cash pile, there are enough ways to store cash as is, (shards, rares)

 

I still think it would be cool to increase it, but they would have to recode or reprogram all of java.

 

You can't just "reprogram java" as far as i'm aware. As someone else said, it's the max integer value.

if u have more than max and can't store it in ge for w.e. reason just transfer it to another safe account? O-o would be safe incase your main gets hacked, so u wouldn't lose everything.

Your math is wrong, the max you can hold is 125b on 1 account.
(With only shards / cash piles).

Including holding in your inventory.

That's not the max integer. I can't remember exactly, but that's the smaller integer. There's 2 different ones, the other being much larger.
They would still need to re program a lot of stuff though, if they were to change it.

 

As I understand it, for the max integer value to be increased, they would need to switch over to 64-bit java. This is no simple task, and the target audience is so small, that I do not foresee it happening until a more valid reason to switch comes to light. An update like this would appease maybe 5% of RuneScape, and that's being generous. Even those 5% have workarounds such as spirit shards, rares, GE slots, mules, etc.

In short: not going to happen.

 

Nah. I think using shards as cash is good enough. Jagex dones't really have time for this and this is a pretty drastic change.
