My Java won't work. Please help?

So I decided today to uninstall my Java and reinstall it because I wanted to play a private server, and none would work. After I uninstalled it, I downloaded the installer from the Java site, then when I tried to run it, I got and error that says, "The installer cannot proceed with the current Internet Connection settings. Please visit the following site for more information." Then it links me to the Java customer support/FAQ page.

Anyone got a solution?

 

Check your fire wall settings, they maybe blocking the application from running.
Try running Runescape, and installing the plugin, that's a sure fire way to run it properly.

 

I tried running the plugin already. I don't remember what it said, so I'll try it again and tell you.

EDIT: It gives me the same error.

 

did you download the java development kit??

It's definitely your firewall settings, or another piece of internet software blocking the connection, try temporarily disabling your firewall. Then installing java, then pop it back up

 

I disabled my Windows Firewall in the System and Security section of the Control Panel, and it still gave me the same error.

 

Trying this right now. Hope it works.

 

Resolved. Downloaded that Java development whatever.

This happened to me I got very frusturated I just reinstalled Java 6 Update 26
