For a second time my thread has been deleted because some mod, (who I still don't know by the way) apparently doesn't like me posting on the subject yet they will not say why nor just lock the thread giving a reason it should be locked.

To whoever keeps deleting my threads, I will keep making this thread until you give me a reason it should be locked or deleted. It's a simple discussion based on everything we see on the site, nothing more.

Originally I created a thread about the banning of iDung. This thread was deleted with no explanation of why. Hell even threads with people who actually did something wrong stay up and are just locked so we can see them.

The user iDung was recently temporarily banned for the reason: [Interest in Hacking]:http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1152103

Now I'm not terribly close to him, I just liked debating with him and what not however, I find this absurdly ridiculous.

He was banned because on this thread:http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1151400

I would understand if he was hacking, or if he had discussed hacking in depth with another user and said specifically he was going to, but an "interest" in hacking? There is nothing in sythe rules that says an interest in hacking is against the rules, the only thing close to relating to this would be the rule that you cannot discuss hacking or password cracking, but did he really discuss it? No.

What are your thoughts? What if mods on sythe could ban you for simply having an opinion? (I was, thankfully I was given a high pardon by finn I believe, so again thank you for that =])
If no actions were done, and no in depth conversation was had on the subject then why be banned? What if you got banned for flaming because the mods thought you were going to even though you haven't flamed in the thread, actually you only posted once and it was kindhearted. Yet the assume you would so they ban you for it?
(Also yes I'm aware he said he would join the site however that does not imply hacking)

(Please note this is not a thread for discussing unbanning iDung in any way, it is simply a discussion on the facts in front of us. So if the mod who originally deleted my thread sees this, please give us your opinion instead of deleting it.)

Last person I had the pleasure to respond to was Delta Squad before it was deleted:

I beleive it was veiwed as he would join the site.. and in the future they may have problems with him hacking/scamming..

as it was a precutioness matter they wanted to nip it in the butt..


alas im not the mod who did it so i do not know.

Thats why I used my flaming analogy =/
I can see why they wanted to do it but it's way too early to claim precaution. It's kind of like seeing someone insult another member and assuming the other person will respond with crude language and what not, so they just ban them. They're making assumptions way to early, especially making a decision from one post lol.

 

The original thread was advertising a hacking site and encouraging our members to join in their "fun".

We don't want those kind of members on our forum. People who register(with the intent to participate assumed in this case) are not trustworthy and do not meet our standards.

I've talked with the original mod who deleted your threads, and he'll contact you in the future on specific reasoning. If you have any more questions, please PM me. Thanks!
