Need a guide to catch ban evaders!

I think not only would it help improve the community awareness but also at the same time get rid of those that have been rightfully banned. I personally have no idea how to catch them, and want to help sythe but cant in this aspect.

For all those want to be or future community assistance peeps out there make one up please haha :laugh:

The best way IMO to catch ban evaders is this:

Copy paste the MSN of the person you think is ban evading, then google search their MSN, add in 'Sythe' after if need be.

Follow the search to the thread, and for ban evaders, their will sometimes be threads of their banned accounting using the same MSN.

For example, a quick google search of your MSN brings this result - http://www.google.com.au/#sclient=p...q=&pbx=1&fp=8bca8b81094b928f&biw=1280&bih=679

I'd write a ban evasion guide but it has to stay in staff lounge, can't let'em know how we get them.

For you guys just msn search and also noticing similar thread titles and pictures........

 

No worrys firez, i just see a few people who come in every now an then on RaS with like 3 + vaders and it makes me wonder how they catch em, as i want to do my part to get rid of them. But that being said your right ,better to not show them where they are getting caught out.

Every MSN you see in a signature, or thread.

Always, ALWAYS Google search it. If it comes up with RuneScape Blackmarket threads, find a bit about them. Scamming on another forum is also a bannable offence, I believe?

Then when you've got matching MSN's to 2 Sythe accounts, report it.

Basically everyone has said what I would suggest. This is how I've found and reported people for Vading in the past. However another few tips that always helps me figure out if they are a vader is: Same signatures from people that have been banned before, new members that seem like they know a lot about Sythe and the black market then usual. New members trying to sell unique items that have been scammed in the past, and new members with weird ToS in their thread. Basically whenever I see this I search their msn and do a little digging to see if they are a vader.

 

I dont think sythe can stop people from ban evasion but i think they can make it more harder. Example Before you can buy anything playerauctions have to verify Phone number By text or phone call. Phone number Only works one time. This is only an Example.

 

Yeah this will most certainly help the flow of new members to Sythe. /sarcasm

It would in the end just lead to them getting throw away SIM cards, and they would adapt and at the same time it would stop newer members from joining as there would be too much bullshit to go through.

 

How does that example relate to ban evasion? Most ban evaders are also scammers, so they likely don't use Player Auctions. Plus to my knowledge the only way Sythe is affiliated with Player Auctions is through ads, so that probably won't happen. If it did it wouldn't affect sythe ban evaders.

Newer sythe member don't Stick Around For Long , because all of scammers. If fixes ban evading sythe will become more people friendly forum. always gonna be scammers trying make a money.

 

i think we should stop IP banning and start computer banning. if we ban computers, they can use a proxy or whatever they want but wont be getting back on sythe on the same comp.

edit: maybe not stop IP banning, but combine the two methods.

 

It's very easy, you just use common sense when looking at pictures and posts.

It would be stupid how to tell people how to catch ban evaders.

Admins/Mods search at their panels for the same IP ?

 

I see no point of banning same person over and over again, when they can just make new account... Rather trade safely, who cares if you get vader banned, they will most likely come back lol...
