I agree, but the problem is that most churches/mosques/religious organisations still preach the god of the bible.

My father and mother got convicted of murder a few years ago, I guess I have no choice to be... o wait.

Whats your definition of a good Christian?

You have a better view of the world "from up here" care to explain?

http://pewforum.org/other-beliefs-and-practices/u-s-religious-knowledge-survey.aspx

Does that mean you believe in the Grim Reaper because there is death?

The problem I find is that, you are only referring to Earth.

There are Trillions of stars out in the universe.

Our sun is one of them, harboring 8 planets.

I find it impossible that out of 80 billion observable galaxies, we are the ONLY lifeforms with the capacity for "knowledge"
Of course there is that chance, however when you take it into perspective like that, based on statistics and chance you cannot roll the number 1 on a dice a million times in a row.

Whenever someone says that I just laugh.
God is something, where did he come from?

What you have just said is that:

You believe in God because you lack the knowledge to understand how something so complex can be created, and something (God) must've created it.

If you could go back in time, and present to the cavemen a car, a gun, an aeroplane. If you were the creator of those objects, are you God?

Just because we as humans today cannot understand something, do not possess the knowledge required to explain something, doesn't mean that God must be the only explanation.

O I understand, thank you for converting me.

I am now Hindu, where God A was created by God B, and God B by C, and C by D, and ABCDEFGHIJKLMN, BY ABCDEFGHIJKLMNO...

You completely contradict yourself + employ a double standard. You avoided the question completely probably because your just a blind follower, who's incapable of backing up your ridiculous propositions.

I like how you assume that there was nothing there to begin with.
Have you not heard of the Big Bang theory?

I'll be a smart arse.

0 = 1
therefore
0 / 0 = 1 x 0.
therefore
0=0

Aside from your ignorance is there any SOLID PROOF God exists?

There is evidence that our currently technology can see back into space 13.7 billion years ago.

Gee the bible doesn't even incorporate dinosaurs. Could it possible be that man simply made up God?

You don't need proof to make a decision on something? My decision is that you are an idiot coming from a 3rd world country that has been adopted out to some redneck family who beat you so hard that you lost 99/100 of your brain cells.

I need not proof for an assertion, as you just stated.

Your first point.
If your parents taught you that water was bad, would you abstain from drinking water even though science and other people disprove and do it just the same? Or would you try to research the foundation of your beliefs?
There is no downside to not believing in God either.

God is the all forgiving right?

I've read the bible and I must say it's a bad fairy tale, have you even read the stuff that is in it? How controversial it is to todays current society?

Let me ask you something, and 99% of Christians fuck themselves up with this. It's quite long so bear with me

Why do you believe in God?
I was raised to.
The bible.
Because we cannot explain why x is y therefore god exists.

First one, if you were raised to believe 1+1 is 3 does that mean it is correct? No that is called conformity.
Third one, there are other reasonable explanations with slightly more evidence to answer those questions aside God. This leaves those theories more credible than God. So this argument itself derives from lack of education and social conformity.

The second one.

I would quote numerous controversial bible quotes, suffice to say the bible promotes:

Cannibalism, genocide, inequality, corruption, coercion.

99% of Christians would then respond, "The bible is not meant to be taken literally."

I would then say, "Then why do you take God literally from within the bible?"

They would then stare at me and either argue 2 of the other aforementioned arguments or just insult me.

Lack of evidence is not evidence of proof, I agree. It is called evidence of absence. We have tried to find whether God exists, and their has been NO statistically significant or otherwise data that suggests he exists.

It's like saying there is a needle in this haystack.
You search tirelessly for the needle and cannot find it.
You arrive to the conclusion there was no needle in this haystack.

This is called evidence of absence, it works against you for science has tried but failed.

Faith and religion are good, they keep followers happy. Ignorance is also bad, and it is ignorant to call others ignorant for not sharing your views.

Now I'm not saying there is no way God can possibly exist, I am simply saying that most religious followers are like sheep, they tend to follow and stay in a spot until acted upon by an external force. They don't see both sides of the argument, ergo think laterally.

I do, it would waste my time with those who do not care.

If your arguing the position of God then that is a contradiction.

You've re worded every creation must have a creator, a paradox in itself.

The bible is utter garbage, Christians hold conflicting views of the bible itself some say to take it literally others say to not.

The bible is not the foundation for Natural Laws, it is merely a book written by a man used to describe his surroundings and creativity.

A house cannot be built before the foundation, Natural Laws cannot come before the bible is what you're saying, need I highlight the subtle paradox?

EXACTLY, It's not commanded by God, It's merely a fairytale.

The promises are spread across the whole bible.

Sigh, learn to put in a question mark.

John 6:54-55 "He who eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath eternal life: and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed."

1 Timothy 2:12 "But I permit not a woman to teach,, nor to have dominion over a man."

1 Samuel 15:3 "Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass."

Leviticus 18:22 "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind it is abomination."

Leviticus 20:9 "For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall surely be put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother, his blood shall be upon him."

Judges 21: Just read it and see what the 10 commandments mean.

Uggh, I do not want to quote more, ask me if you really want me to.
Want me next to quote bible contradictions, theres even more of them.

Please justify what all those quotes mean, your holy book preaches them so surely if you've studied them more than me, then you can portray your understanding of them rather than rambling on about beliefs you don't even know.

You still you haven't given meaning to my quote, I don't know how you can take the extermination of a race out of context.

Now that we've justified how flawed and controversial the bible is, why do you believe in God?
The bible?
Other people believe in it?

Just tell me why, the very reason/s you believe in it.

So basically the only reason you believe in God is because you have no other possible explanation for why such an event occurred.
Just like the people in ancient times believed in God.

Medical and Scientific Law is ever changing and gets defied all the time.
Afterlife needs not a God to exist.

You inferred it.
For stating that you witnessed the afterlife as a reason for believing in God implies that you believe God has something to do with the afterlife.

Regardless, I'm not going to debate with you whether God exists or not as you've had an 'out of the world' experience. I will say unfortunately that your reasoning is the most legitimate one most Christians give me. That being said, meditation also brings an outer body experience, and your brain can produce such experiences.

Or fear, which is very contrasting to comfort.

Is this what you were referring to?
Mendelssohn - Died 1847
Spinoza - Died 1677
Aristotle - Died 332 BC

Now need I tell you what my next point is going to be?

What year was the Big Bang theory, the most common scientifically recognized theory (I'm fairly sure) that tells us how the Universe was created.

Regardless of what it cannot account for, it accounts for much more than a mythical monster creating everything we see around us.

Also, if you ask 'What caused the big bang?', then not only do you assume that the Universe cannot of just existed without creation, but you further contradict yourself by proposing God can.

The mythical monster creating everything we see is around us IS GOD. You just stated that the idea itself is completely irrational, thus in essence you are saying the idea of God is not consistent using reason.

How can you tell someone to 'study logical and deep understandings' of something irrational when you full well know that it is indeed irrational?

Anybody sane person objectively reading this will have little problem identifying your reasoning as warped beyond description.

I probably have little chance of convincing you of anything, since you have apparently switched off most of your brain. You have come to believe some truth, and are shaping things around you to fit your foregone conclusion. This is the exact opposite of a search for or promotion of truth.
