Arggggh Phished!!!

I just got phished on my fucking main, had one of them emails from jagex@noreply... i'm so fucking dumb. I didn't think twice.

Lost 50mil... Any way to know the person who did it?

I think I know who it is as I have the address and i've found them on google earth, they live about 3 hours drive away, is it worth going and shitting the mother fucking daylights out of him at night for the lols with my headcam on too and ill post it up here

 

Yeah, just put -Show details for there email etc, and people do and can use other peoples emails and they get your email of sites like this, Ive had about 30 Jagex ones and 60 Blizzard ones but all of them get put in spam
and Imo that is a bit over the top, driving 3 hours because you lost some pixels.

 

you can't tell who did it by an IP address.
there's many ways to change your displaying IP address.

It's not worth it to go try and beat someone up and end up in the slammer over some gold lost on runescape.

TDG, it was a clever phish. It said I need to log in my account as it has been inactive (which is true I hadn't been on it for 2 weeks) and I heard about people losing their usernames. Anyways i'm selling the main now... check out my user profile created threads.. it's a 121 main

 

All phishers work like that, they get you to sign in due to an urgent reason.

You won't be able to find out who did it, IP tracers are only accurate to a point, they cannot track to the house. Even if you somehow did manage to find his house, I would not advise going over there and committing aggravated assault on that person for possibly stealing your RS items.

 

I remember we tracked down who was doing it, some guy had his old website address and his details. Im 99% sure I have his address, i can see his house :L

I wouldn't do that no but I fancy having a word with him

 

Was it saying that you received an infraction to your account? I usually get that one all the time from the phishing email.

i got it too,, seen a few things about this type of phishing on here so i didnt bother with it...

 

Hardly a clever phish, 99% of them use this sort of method. And along with Jagex's firm "We will never contact you via email" policy i don't see how phishing gets so many victims.

Anyway, about that so called address you have. If you obtained it via the IP it won't actually be his address (i'm not 100% certain on this) but usually IP traces just trace the main location (or even exchange) of the ISP providing that IP in the area.
If you didn't get the address from the IP, then how did you obtain.

Ooo Covey, thanks for taking your time to write to me. lol. Nah it was taken from his old email address, and the site in which he used to phish, i can't remember tbh, it's from January sometime. But I've got a picture of his house saved in my documents and his irl address.

 

You could report him to your local police, however i don't know how serious they will take it.
On the other hand if you do feel the need to lay a beat down upon him, you have to think to yourself, if you are caught is it worth the criminal record & possible compensation for damages you may have to payout.

I'd just cut your losses and start again, i can understand how shit it is to lose alot of hard work. But lifes goes on, and it IS only a game.

 

Lol it was only 50mil, imagine ringing the police over that hahahaa, nah i wouldn't do that, i just fancy seeing what he looks like irl..

 

I don't think there is any way how to track them down.

 

Me too..I get blizzard ones more often than Jagex ones..so annoying.

 

You have his ip, you don't have a clue where he lives.
