This forum is for discussion regarding the IRC. Not for threads like "Oh my god, I got banned : (".

 

Im sorry do you make the rules for the IRC?
Who are you, a game mod to decide this, honestly theres not much
happening in this section, why not post disputes. I forgot their taking up
so much space.

 

It is actually against the rules, but i totally agree with you. I don't see why a Game Development mod can just come in and make rules, outside of his assigned section.

But who am I to disagree.

 

Pshynosis sure does think a lot of his GAME DEV MOD rank.

 

I don't give a flying fuck what mod rank he has... He's right, and most of you are too incompetent to notice that there is already a thread setup for abuse reports.

 

IRC Lounge - Discuss what happens on the IRC and the IRC.

He has his Game Dev Mod rank, he should stay there. He shouldn't be allowed to run this place too. Also, he shouldn't go around giving every single person he sees (that deserves) an infraction just because he has the power. Yes, its the right thing to do, but really, how much are you guys really even doing in the MMORPG section?

Being banned and being abused could be 2 totally different things.

 

Cody I agree with you 100%. Pshynosis you should be in the game section
not handing out random infractions to people in totally different sections, or posting rules in sections you
do not even moderate. Your a game mod for a reason.

 

On all of the sites that i have been on, not saying that sythe should be like them, but you keep your powers in the limits of the section you are assigned.

You can assign infractions if needed, but you shouldn't be ruling the section.

 

Not even that. Infractions in the MMORPG part of Sythe, but no where else. If Mod was given to him to do shit outside that section, he would get Global, which I don't see under his name. I say get them to stay in their own yard or just GTFO (of Mod spot ).

 

This is where i part ways with you.

If a infraction is seen as needed by him, then it will probably be assigned. But he shouldn't be handing out hundreds of infractions a day, in the off topic section.

 

If you were banned and not abused, you aren't getting unbanned. Hence the ban in the first place.

Backseat modding is illegal. I would ban him if I were a mod. >_> <_<

 

Backseat modding is telling someone to do something (act as a Mod would) without having any Mod powers. He does have Mod powers, he is just going outside of his area which seems kind of stupid when he has 'Game Dev' Mod and gets to use his powers outside of it.

 

What? This is like saying TDD can't do anything outside of the graphics section, or that Darkspark can't do anything outside of the market section. Grow a clue, guys. Pshynosis is right.

Hey do you guys see me modding here? I've been using irc for 5-6 years now. 4 of them in the Sythe irc. I sure do know what I'm talking about and so does Shawn.

 

Ok let's try it this way.

Don't post "Oh no am banned D:" threads here.

When I see them, I just delete them.

 

I think i speak for the rest of us (correct me if wrong), but we don't care, nor are we arguing that you don't know your way around the IRC. We are simply telling you that you are a game dev mod, and don't see why you are coming into other sections and trying to make rules there.

Thats all im saying.

 

And yet I wonder why I was given an infraction and had my thread deleted for my farewell thread. It wasn't a dispute it was a simple farewell. I guess when you're a Game Dev you can do whatever you want.
