I'm addicted to staking...

Any advice? 3 days ago I went from 25m to 1.9 - 2b ...now atm I have exactly 0gp...any advice on how to stop?

 

Well it looks like having 0 gp will be what stops you...for now.

I had same problem except with dicing. Diced 25m to Blue phat/divine/ and was working on a max cash pile..then to 0.. but I was able to stop before they removed it. Same thing with staking pretty much as it is all gambling. Try doing a skill that's entertaining like dung or something that requires you to be constantly moving. Try PvM or pking. If you dont have any dung weps try working for one and then slaying. I know most stakers have the "staking" worlds on their quickworld thing so remove them and add new ones. Completely block out staking and try not to think about it..which reminds me..

Already have 108 dung and can buy any Chaotics/Dung items I want just about....I have 19 99s and the ones that arent 99 are 90+ and cant be bothered getting 99 really...as far as PvM or PvP I guess but that only entertains me for a bit, and then I feel like I'm wasting time when I could be out staking making 100x what I'm making now...

 

Well it sounds like you're a pretty good staker. What I would do is not quit staking, but make item goals. Once you attain that item via staking, just don't wager the item ever again. Only stake whatever GP you have after that. This way, it will be literally impossible to get cleaned out, and you can ultimately win enough to build a ridiculous networth.

 

Really good idea tbh orrrr better yet when you get that money goal to maybe buy the item.. instead of that goal set gp goal.. like 100M then every 100M you sell it for $50 or whatever.. so that way you aren't losing anything yet it seems like you're poor on runescape but really youre money is just irl

 

Great idea, I guess what you have to ask yourself, Phat, is what you want out of staking. If the rush is enough, then losing money isn't a big deal. If it's an item goal like a phat, strive for that, get it, and then never wager it again. If it's to make real life money, do what Zorp advised; sell at every 100M or so. Either way, this should help your staking problem.

 

Lol that day I went from 25m - 2b I bought a purple had 800m left, staked like 400m, then 200, lost then staked like 250m and my purple and got RAPED....But yes that item idea you said was what I was doing kinda but with GP...if I staked say 200m and now had a total of 400m, I'd bank 300m of it...and thats how I got up to 2b...But that idea went out the window when I started losing

 

My advice? Grab 25M, go straight up to 2B, sell 1.5B of it...

Trust me, once you see the IRL cash in your hand of around what...$700+?

You'll continue staking and this time you'll be more cautious and stake with only a little amount of your GP and now all and you'll keep selling the rest.

I bought 40m last night and got cleaned within 30 minutes...

 

Just do other things, Start by getting 99 fishing.

And don't buy any duel rings -_-

I have the same problem sometimes, I get bored and think what the hell, one 20m stake isn't going to hurt. 30 mins later i'm cleaned for 140m and think why did i just do that..

 

Typical gambling advice here is to only stake what you're willing to lose. When people take trips to vegas, the idea is that you'll have a good time no matter the outcome. Also staking is not a "winnable" game, it's pretty much 50-50 unless you know glitches, so you should never go into it thinking you're going to make money. Even with PiD, you have to play many matches to have a noticeable advantage

 

I have the same exact problem.. I always go back to it, was just cleaned for the 21x yesterday.... To be honest the only permanent solution is to quit Runescape, as you can never get away from the rush of making 500m in 10 minutes.

Just get your remaining 99's
Get the quest cape
Find a new source of money like flipping or pvm.

 

The only way to stop is to quit rs, start skilling or training, or run out of cash irl For me, I diced and lost alot of irl money. Everytime i seem to be making bank, I get cleaned. It got so bad my gf started to get impatient and mad with me. Nuff said, I quit

 

Get rid of your staking account!

It's the best way, i have gained an overall large profit from staking but i stake smart the majority of the time, if you can't quit or stop when you loose to much, your not really a good staker.
