Is there any way to transfer gamertags from one xbox live account to another?

 

Yeah but you've got to pay each 800 MSP for the change so it would be a total of 1600 MSP it'd cost.

 

Yeah you need msps unless both accounts have a free gamertag change. Which you get one if you have made the account/s within the past 2 months.

 

Ok and once I changed the name on an OG would I be able to instantly take the name on my main GT? instant?

 

Yes you will be able to do it instantly!

Yes, instantly you would be able to do it. In fact, so instantly that someone might randomly take it while it's available (although it's very rare, it just might happen.) So you might want to Skype with your friend who's recovered your account and have he/she change the gamertag to the OG the second you also change the OG to a random GT. But that's only if you want to be extremely safe.

 

Can't you delete the name you want, then quickly change your account to that name, so in essence saving 1600 MSP?

 

Nope, I dont think it works like that im pretty sure when you actually delete delete an xbox live account the gamertag is unavailable for a year. Thats the way it used to be anyways.
