future of browser games, what does this mean for runescape? check it out...

This game engine is called "Unity3d"

What I find real stunning about it is:
- Incredibly good 3d graphics (renders millions of polygons per second!!) LOL.
- Easy realtime networking, means you can make it Multiplayer just like Runescape!
- The engine supports three scripting languages: JavaScript, C#, and a dialect of Python called Boo.
- Give your GameObjects life with the built-in Ageia PhysXâ„¢ Physics Engine. It's the world's most advanced physics engine and is used in games like Unreal Tournament 2007 and Ghost Recon 3.
- Can be website integrated... (Like runescape) You can run the game on browser.
- It provides a highly optimized lighting system with realtime shadows and baked lightmaps. Use shadow and light to great effect, without worrying about the gritty technical details.

Wow, thats amazing, but it should stay as it was, or to create something like that, but to give the players to play the old RuneScape 2 (2006-2007)...

 

Wow that looks pretty good. Unfortunately I'm not sure that perspective works really well with runescape.

It looks AMAZING! But I don't think that would fit RuneScape.

 

That's impressive good work, I'd love to try and play with similar graphics to your displays.

 

thats simply amazing i think if runescape manage to get there quality standard that high it would bring alot to the game

 

The graphics are nice, but that might be hard to translate to rs.

 

It'd actually be so bamf if TuneScape did eventually get those graphics.

Hmm i think its a looong way from completion, and yes the graphics look good, but it WILL lag if they have vast amounts of players. E.G. 200 people.

 

I wonder how much detail like that would ram up the specs needed to run RS I should still be safe, but I don't like lag at all..

 

It's a good idea, but the whole concept of Runescape would be ruined IMO. Even the newer graphics ruined the old runescape. Ls

Im guessing its pretty hard to get all that going though, how long did it take you to get that little bit of the wildy with the lava bridge? Im guessing it was awhile D;

 

The point of RS is to be able to play across all platforms and not be limited based on hardware. This seems nice but quite a few older computers wouldn't be able to support this. I'm not an graphic/hardware expert so correct me if i'm wrong.

BTW, if you made those graphics. You need to work for Jagex. Those are amazing
