    Wrestling (for fun)
Have you ever been to one of those beach parties, when the jocks get a little testosterone pumped and decide to have a little sportly combat? The guys would make a ring in the sand and start pushing eachother to try and force the other person out of the ring. There are a bunch of bikini-clad girls on the sidelines cheering for them, and you really want to get out there and show off. Problem, is you don't know how! Well look no further! Here is a high school wrestler's guide to beach combat.

Before I start, I just want to say that it is NOT this kind of wrestling ^, where a bunch of sweaty guys strap on singlets and force each other to sumbission. No, this wrestling is much more fun and doesn't involve as much injury or physical strain.

I have been a high school wrestler for years and I have found that the same principles apply for the sport wrestling as for beach combat. I have put together a list of three key points that I have found are most affective to help you stay strong.

    1. Footwork
    [IMG]
Stand with your feet like the kid in the above picture. You always want to keep your feet squared and strong, a little past where your shoulders are. When you move, always remember NEVER to cross your feet. If you cross your feet for even a moment, you run the risk of losing your balance. This is crucial. Always keep your knees bent and shuffle your feet to keep strong and hold your balance.

    2. Stay Grounded
The whole key to the game is not to let your opponent push you out of the ring. The key way to prevent this from happening is to stay grounded. Plant your stance in a way that you know no one can move you. Never move too much in one direction, do not back up too far or rush forward. Keep your shoulders strong and use quick, jerky movements to catch your opponent off guard.

    3. Eye Contact
    [IMG]

Never once should you break eye contact with your opponent. Don't ever look down at your feet or hands (I know it's tempting), but rather, keep your eyes completely locked with his. Show him who's boss, and that you're not afraid to push him back.

If you follow these instructions, you should be able to hold out in the ring against some pretty tough oponents. If you have any suggestions about the guide, or constructive criticism/commentary, feel free to post. Thanks for reading! Now you can do this ^_^

Omg nice guide. I love the pictures also. Or if you want to be good at wrestling, and show off in front of the ladies, you could bulk up and do some real damage.

Which I do, from November 15th to February 22nd. But it's conditioning season now (for football). ^_^
I'll soon be posting my guide on how I maintain healthy weight during wrestling season.

Nice guide. I remember one time I beach wrestled my friend and as a HS wrestler I had the advantage in many ways. I just put in a standing cradle and threw him down.

Nice. My favorite wrestling moment was I was at a tournament and this freshman wresler thought he was good enough to go JV (he wasn't :p), and I got matched against him in the first round. I put him in a standing leg cradle 20 seconds in and he tapped out. ^_^ Beast
