Question about Paypal!

If I sell something on Paypal and once I receive the money, then transfer it to another Paypal account real fast before the guy can charge back, will they take it from my other account? Or will I just have a negative balance on the account the guy charged back with?

 

If you spend the money they send you and he charges back you will go negative

Yes, just the account that originally received the money will be in the negative balance. But PayPal will reverse the money back from the second PayPal account, to the first. It's happened to me once before for $450.

 

So if I send $100 to my second account and someone charges the $100 back on the first account, they will hold the $100 on the second account too?

 

Your second account will have a $0 balance and your first one will have a negative balance.

 

They won't hold it, they will reverse it so that it goes back into the first account.

 

That is dumb, what if I didn't know the guy was going 2 charge back and then right after he gave me $100, I sent someone the $100.00.

They would take that $100.00 from him.

Guess I only trading with Trusted Users, lol.

 

They would take the money, and if you spent that money before its charged back it would have negative balance also.

 

What if I closed Paypal account number 1 once he set me the money and before he could chargeback?

They won't get it from ur other account, but the account that got charged back will be negative. And paypal will call u or sent some one to u to get their money back.

 

1. Trader sends $5 to Paypal A
2. Paypal A sends to Paypal B
3. Trader chargesback.
4. Paypal A now has -$5

 

So what happens for all the people who have paypals with a netspend account?

I used to have one of these before I was "old enough" to link my real bank account to my paypal. I feel like this would be wayyy to easy for paypal to lose money this way.

This is what I would assume happens.

Trade A buys 100m from Trade B for $100
Trade B gives $100 to Trade C
Trade A charges back $100 from Trade B
Trade B goes into -$100 balance
Paypal then reverses all payments sent from Trade B's account (Including the $100, which is taken away from Trade C)

In the end, you lose money not paypal.

 

Yes, they will. They did it to me for over $400.

I received $450 in account 1. Then sent it to account 2. Then I closed account 1, thinking that I would be good. Well the guy chargedback, and the second account was limited. Then they reversed the $450 BACK into PayPal account #1 to cover the negative 450 I had. YES they did this even though the account was closed. Edit: I just checked my account to make sure what I was saying was correct, and it seems that they reversed the transaction, but didn't actually take the money from account #2. Even though I have a transaction listed in my history that says "reversal to..."

So I have no idea what actually happened there, but I have never gotten a single call or email regarding a negative balance.

So basically: If you're worried about it OP, just sell to trusted people or use PA.

 

Paypal is stupid if your the seller.
