To all Attempting Phishers

I realize this article is a little old, but with this sudden influx of these phising emails, I'd like to send this out as a warning. People do get caught and it does become serious.

Wow this is on BBC? I ignored all of them, didn't fall for the trick, but I'm surprised where they got the mails from.

Most phishers are just script kiddies;

They don't know that there is no difference from stealing Virtual Goods, as opposed to Real Life Goods.

i can due to the fact that its over running the game i would not be surprised if jagex took a better swing at sites like powerbot rsbotting and sythe it is running the game for the ligit players i am a botter so i guess i dont understand but my runescape ligit game play time is pry only around 20 hours LOL

I just recieved what looked like an email from Jagex
Clicked the link, redirected me to Runesnape.com and asked me to login to appeal an apparent "Infraction" my account had, though no account is linked to the email

 

LOL! I had exactly the same website. In the email it looks like services.runescape.com but then its services.runesnape.com
Stupid phiser kiddies.

 

I hope they catch some of these phishers, karma can be a bitch.

Why does everyone keep pointing out that it is old? In my opening sentence I stated I realize it's old - BUT, fact of the matter is people do get caught and as hilarious as that might be to us, they are considered criminals.

Especially now with so much of it, I'm sure more is going to be done.

But I guess they will only be able to charge the people living in country's that have laws against it, I can't see many other country's getting involved with this stuff, maybe Australia , Canada ..
